#PERCY POV#
"There are benefits to being a demigod," Said Hecate teaching a class that interested me
I am sitting down on one of the chairs eating in class alongside 80 demigods maybe a little more than that
It's about the benefits of being a demigod
Surprising
"First off, demigods don't get mortal diseases, although they can be forced upon them due by deities. But, usually not last long unless a deity turns it into a curse," She said and I was rather surprised but still nothing too groundbreaking
"Second, demigods obviously heal a lot faster than mortals, but this also comes with an increase in hunger as the body needs it in order to recover faster," She said which made me deadpan at her as my malnutrition was at its third stage yesterday before I ate and it went back to back down a few hours later
"Also, while not a very well-known fact demigods can use magic," She said which actually surprised me
"However, the reason most of them are unable to use most of their gifts is that they have an extremely small pool of magic, that at most help give them their gifts. What is not well known, however, is that a demigod can draw upon their source of magic and use it to cast basic spells," She says and I listen to every word even knowing that I won't try using general magic anytime soon
"There are huge downsides to this as most demigods can only really use spells related to their godly parent's domain. But, this doesn't mean that they can't use other forms of magic at the expense of even more magic. While casting magic is something that requires a lot of effort, time, and knowledge it is possible to do so," She said while some of the students looked a bit down
I understand why though
Magic is a powerful tool that can make a normal human fight against gods
I know that all too well
"Now, now don't look so down, there are ways to increase your magic and that is to actively use it in any way that you can, it also grows naturally as you age up until a certain point but beyond that, I am unaware as no demigod has lived that long and even far less that had even a basic understanding of magic enough to make a difference in their magic reserves," She said while walking around
"Some are blessed with more magic than others even humans can learn magic, some are far too blessed in that regard that they will eventually gain the attention of a deity," She said looking around nervously
"Clear-sighted mortals can see through the mist thanks to their own innate magical energy which allows them to see through the mist," She says
"For our next class, I will teach you all to reach into your magical pool and draw it out, dismissed," She said while looking at me with her eyes widening
Everyone left looking at us curiously but I just stare back at Hecate while eating a protein bar and some soda
After, a few minutes we were alone
"How?" She asked
"How do you have the powers of a child of the big three?" She says while looking at me
"Vengeance," I tell her and she looked confused
"I used a ritual set up by someone to ask deceased demigods of the big three that were killed after the great prophecy was issued for their gifts," I tell her and she stares at me and she nods in acceptance
We see an Empousa rushing in
"There is something happening in the training field..." She begins before I shadow travel to the constructed training area and sees Nike and Zelus arguing while a demigod was bleeding from a sword to her stomach with another demigod over her with his left hand covered in blood
"WHAT DID YOU DO YOU BITCH?" Screamed Zelus as he screamed at Nike while rushing over to his son bleeding on the floor
"There is no room on the podium for two," She said and I immediately understood the situation
I go over there and grab Nike by the throat as anger surged through me
"Really?" I ask and she freezes once she realizes it's me
"What did I say about how you should treat your kids?" I ask her coldly
"She..." I raise a palm over her face
"Let me guess you guys made a competition of the TRAINING that is supposed to be where they learn to fight. There were two winners but you probably being the 'goddess' of victory made sure there was only one, your child" I say to which her eyes widen
"She also branded her daughter for refusing to take the hit against my son," Said Zelus as I took off a cloak from my shoulders made from Stygian Iron threads enchanted with the same effects of the golden fleece
"Cover him with it," I tell him and he does as I say
"This is..." he began before I ignored him and I turn my attention to Nike's daughter
She raised her shirt up a little and I could see the burnt mark on her stomach
I slowly turn my eyes toward Nike without turning my head
"Remove it, NOW," I scream that part out as I saw her eyes turn defiant before I screamed as she removed it
I saw it glow and vanish quickly
"Meet me at our meeting room and summon every available god that is able to attend," I tell Zelus as I bind Nike in bindings made of shadows and teleport her there
It seems I have to remind the local wildlife of the rules
