Divorce is the only option for us

"If you keep fighting, we'll have to do something about it!" A voice boomed from behind two girls who were once again fighting, they quickly looked up from the ground to see the face of the lady yelling at them.

The girls both immediately turned away from the intimidating face staring down at them angrily, one of the girls timidly scratched her face and smiled awkwardly. Whilst the other breathed in and out a few times to steel her nerves, then she proceeded to stare right back at the imposing woman.

"Yeah…? What're you gonna do about it?" She asked haughtily and ended up regretting it instantly. The look she received was filled with no longer held back murderous intent. After all, this teacher, in particular, had a bad temper and her anger had been building from these two children repeatedly ignoring her and the other teachers' warnings.

The unrestrained murderous intent shut up the girl instantly and the teacher started at her in annoyance before sighing and turning away. She shook her head slowly and prayed to the heavens that these girls would stop causing so much mischief. She then turned back to the girls and continued talking.

"Well, your parents said they had some… ideas. So we'll pass you off to them for now, and if that doesn't work…" The teacher's eyes glinted evilly and her face broke into a smile void of any warmth. After a second, she seemed to regain her composure and coughed lightly.

"Anyway, you'll see if it comes to that."

She smiled gently and led them back into the building, the two girls had so emerged in their fight they hadn't noticed everyone in their class had already gone back in after the end of p.e class.

They hurried after the figure slowly getting further and further away.

A man and a girl were both standing in a room, they'd been standing for a while in silence, they were in a study, there was a black desk with a black chair and a black monitor… Everything was black, except the floor which was made up of grey floorboards and the ceiling which was painted white, like the door. There was a potted plant too, in the corner by the bookshelf.

The man had called the girl due to a few calls he'd recently received, he had wanted to talk about them with her. The girl seemed to realise why she was in the room and looked somewhat nervous.

The man looking at her was visibly slightly angry, he brought out his phone and showed the girl the number of calls he'd received recently, they were all from the girl's school.

"Emmaline, can't you behave yourself?" He asked in an exasperated tone, the girl hung her head and looked at the ground in shame and anger. She truly believed it wasn't her fault, at least not entirely, she grits her teeth to prevent any chances for tears to fall.

The man saw this and took a deep breath to calm himself, he instead changed his tactic for making her behave. His tone instantly became gentle and a warm smile broke onto his normally cold-looking face. Nothing except life could be seen in his beautifully clear grey-green eyes.

"I'm sorry that your mother and I are going through a bit of trouble right now, but we'll get through it soon. So please stop fighting with your friends."

"She's not my friend." Her voice was elevated and she seemed to spit out the word "not".

The man's gentle smile seemed to lessen for just an instant before the warmth returned to his eyes.

"I understand, if she's not a friend whatever she says or does shouldn't affect you. Do you understand, LiLi?"

"Yes, father." She tried to contort her face into a pleasant smile but failed, she then began to leave the room in a hurry.

"That's my good girl, if you're good then I'll buy you a gift."

She gave him a small smile before turning away, he watched her leave before sighing to himself in annoyance.

"What a useless girl. Sigh. Just causing more trouble for me." He leaned back and sat on the desk in the room. He moved his arms and held his face in his hands, letting out another impatient sigh.

"You shouldn't say such things about your daughter," A woman walked in from the next room with a fake smile plastered across her face. "After all, you're not much better are you?"

"Say that again. I think I misheard you." The man smiled back, with no warmth lingering on his face. His veins could practically be seen coming out from his forehead.

"You're worse than useless, you're worthless. Can't hold down a job but dare use your, self-proclaimed, 'amazing acting skills' on your daughter. Such trash, if you have the time to be so fake then you should go out and get a job."

The woman breathed out a sigh and played with her hair as she continued.

"You keep complaining about money, but what're you doing about it? Staying here all day, drinking to your heart's content. Don't you think I've stressed enough already? Why make me take care of you whilst you're drunk? Is my time that worthless to you? You're forcing me to pay for the three of us when you're wasting the most money and not even trying to earn anything."

"Shut up you annoying woman! If I'm that bad why don't we just get a divorce! You're insufferable too, do you think you're not doing anything wrong?! You spend all your money on fancy clothes and expensive cosmetics. You even buy them for our daughter, she's still growing! The clothes won't fit her for more than a year at most. Such a damn waste."

"You intolerable man! I pay all our bills and I use my bonus for myself! What's wrong with that?! And those clothes for our daughter were gifts for her birthday! Wasting money? Bullshit. Look at you, multiple phones, one for business, one for personal use. The latest laptop from Aplle, the best quality desktop and pc-"

He interrupted her, "They're for work! You were just complaining I don't work. Why're you nagging me about things related to my work now?!"

She couldn't help but shake her head, "Because you never use them for work! I only use second-hand things you don't need anymore when the latest models come out and you buy those instead. Yet I'm earning far more than you are! You're unemployed and aren't taking any acting jobs!"

"Well, the entertainment industry is rough! Get off my damn back!"

"You chose this!"

"You said you'd support me!"

"I have all this time! What're you going on about-"

Outside the door, the little girl was sitting on the floor by the door, listening in on their conversation. Her eyes were becoming moister by the second and tears were starting to form.
