Courage Test

"Anego, good night..."

Naoki answered the phone.

"Who are you calling Anego!"

Nanako's embarrassed scream suddenly rang in the ears, and there were two faint giggles.

"Okay." Naoki entered the topic, "What do you want me to do?"

Nanako lowered her voice and said:

"Yoshiko and I are in an abandoned school dormitory..."

"A test of courage?"

"Um."

"Not playing."

Naoki quickly shook his head and refused.

A place like an abandoned dormitory building is definitely not very clean, it's a pain to wash dirty clothes yourself.

"I didn't call you to come and play. Listen to me, idiot." Nanako snorted softly, and there was a hint of nervousness in her voice, "We just saw a white figure, and I'm a little worried..."

Nanako lowered her voice "Do you think there are ghosts in this world?"

"This is..."

"Hey, hurry up and talk."

Nanako was even more nervous.

"Would you like to hear the truth or a lie?"

Naoki said slowly.

"You said that, so you mean there is?"

Nanako's heart suddenly froze, and she had no doubt that Naoki would lie to herself. There are even super powers in the world, so youkai and ghosts are normal.

Overall, it didn't make sense that there was only one 'special being' like Naoki in this world.

"What should we do now?"

Nanako asked nervously.

Naoki gave a suggestion. "How about you try befriending a ghost?"

"I can't do such a thing!"

"Because you know you can't do it." Naoki sighed, feeling really tired, "Then why don't you come back soon."

Thirty-six strategies, retreat is the best strategy. When facing unknown dangers, run properly. Aren't you running and guarding the other party for dinner?

"A-Anego..."

A girl's trembling voice suddenly sounded.

"Yoshiko, what's wrong?"

"There's a human head outside the window...floating, floating!"

"What-"

With a piercing scream, the phone hung up abruptly.

Looking at the phone whose call had ended, Naoki quickly frowned.

Did they meet a ghost?

Could it be someone else's joke?

Before seeing it with his own eyes, Naoki wouldn't make any light conclusions.

But...

Naoki decided to go there.

If it was Nanako wanting to save face and suffer, absolutely couldn't make such an embarrassing joke.

After texting and waiting for a while, after no one answered, Naoki picked up the phone, put on his shoes, and immediately left the school dormitory.

"Southeast corner."

In the afternoon, when he meets a Nanako in the corridor, his followers tell Naoki the direction of the abandoned dormitory building. He stepped forward and soon arrived at a secluded corner.

The last dim yellow street lamp stood still on the side of the road, countless flying insects flew under the light bulb, and there was a trail overgrown with weeds, it seemed to be an abandoned dormitory building.

"No no entry sign..."

Naoki felt that the apartment building was still in disrepair and would most likely be abandoned.

If there really were ghosts, the school would have to make repeated orders to ban entry, right?

Naoki stepped onto a deserted street. The singing of various insects and frogs became clear, and the early summer evening was extraordinarily lively.

Walking to the door of the dormitory building, the two doors were half closed, and there was a dark hole in them. Naoki picked up his cell phone and was about to enter, when his footsteps suddenly stopped, and he looked down.

A rusty and damaged sign lay among the grass, with the indistinct [No Entry] written on it.

"Bad review."

"This dilapidated, run-down place must have hidden security hazards, and it is normal to be barred from entering."

"Since you don't want other people to enter, you should change the sign to something more attractive."

Naoki groaned in his heart, reached out and pushed the door open, and walked into the dormitory building.

A musty smell came to the nostrils, slightly pungent.

Naoki rubbed his nose, picked up his phone, and looked around. In front of him was a large hall. Unfortunately it was empty and quiet. There are two spiral staircases in the corner, leading to the second floor. The moonlight shone from the window and fell to the ground, looking a little pale.

Naoki picked up his cell phone and walked around the lobby on the first floor. The walls were covered in scribbles, some very recent, some dull, and almost gone. Obviously since the dormitory building was abandoned, many people came here to do the 'Courage Test', the graffiti on the walls was probably the improvisations of the senpais.

"Chiba?"

Naoki shouted, his voice echoing in the first floor hall, but unfortunately no one answered.

"Looks like I can only go upstairs."

Naoki walked to the spiral staircase and up the stairs. This staircase is paved with wooden floors. In the broken state, every step will emit a strange sound, which makes people worry that it will suddenly break and collapse.

"A very hard move, if in a horror movie, there are already monsters that are close to backstab distance, right?"

Naoki turned around and looked back while complaining.

The back is naturally empty...

"Um?"

Naoki half-squinted his eyes and seemed to see a white shadow flashing fast.

"Broken eye, or..."

Naoki continued walking to the second floor.

While turning a corner, Naoki suddenly bumped into a pale face.

After a short silence.

A girl's scream suddenly sounded.

"Hiyaa-"

Naoki resisted the urge to snap his fingers, dodging the sonic attack.

Not a ghost.

Tears, shivers, and the girl who almost hugged her head and squatted in defense was too embarrassing.

"Stupid Asakawa, don't hide in a corner and be scary!"

Seeing the girl in the white coat who was crying, Naoki reached out his right hand and stroked the girl's hair:

"I'm sorry, next time I'll scream first."

"Suddenly screaming is scarier, okay?"

Sekijou subconsciously rubbed Naoki's palm, only then did she react, and his face quickly turned red, "Don't touch my head!"

The top of a girl's head is the same as her butt, so you can't let a boy touch it, can you?

"Sorry, my hands are itching."

"This is even more annoying!"

Naoki withdrew his right hand and asked:

"Why are you here? Where's Ogata?"

"Ogata didn't come." Sekijou said in annoyance, "I'm the only one here."

Naoki was surprised: "You really left Ogata to act alone?"

"Do you think I would?"

Sekijou sighed and explained.

Forest school is a total of three days and two nights. Today is the second night, which means that tomorrow afternoon everyone will be taking the Shinkansen back to Tokyo, so many people want to do everything they can on this last night.

Sekijou is reading and studying at the dorm, and she makes an appointment with the girl at the dorm to come and explore together. This girl wasn't like Ogata at all, and she was embarrassed to spoil the mood, so she could only follow along.
