Our In-Between

I hear him before everyone else does.

"I think someone is here," I say as I uncuff her quickly.

"What? No, there is no one here you are just drunk," Carrie says as she pushes me away.

I uncuff her ankles and the girls are all so wasted but Gigi has heard me and so she comes to ask me if I am sure.

"I did, and if it's who I think it is I would rather not be caught here," I whisper to her. I am starting to panic but then I remember Madame's number one lesson: don't panic.

I take a deep breath and then exhale.

"It's been wonderful being here but we have to go," Gigi tell the girls and Carrie and I am up the stairs before she is done even bidding the goodbye.

"She is so weird, have you noticed?" I hear one of the girl's ask each other and that's the last thing on my mind as I quietly open the door and then step outside the corridor.
