Chapter 40: Nora

There he was just standing there like it was no big deal. He was looking at me with such kindness but, holy shit, I must look like hot garbage. I try and brushed my hair down with my fingers but I honestly think I was just making it worse.

“Hi, Harvey,” I managed to croak out. He walked over to the chair by my bedside and sat down. “Hi, Nora,” he said mocking me a little. I smiled.

“Well, I guess you found me. I thought this hide and seek game would never end,” I said trying to ease the awkwardness.

“It did take like half a year, that has to be some kind of record,” he said eying me suspiciously. I laughed. “How’re you feeling?” he asked getting more serious. "Like someone hit me with a car then cut a large chunk out of my leg with a rusty soup spoon,” I said rubbing my leg. “That does sound like the work of Seattle’s best surgeons,” He was trying not to laugh.
