When Micah showed up to the set of Good Morning America that Thursday, he was half asleep and groggy, barely aware of the makeup and hair people helping him. He still hadn’t fully processed the phone call from Rachel the night before.
“I’ll be right back to grab you, Mr. Kyle,” one of the assistants said.
Micah nodded, trying to hide his nervousness. Despite being the face of the Kyle company, he dreaded public speaking.
His sister Libby was pulling dresses out of a closet and gawking at them. “Relax Micah, you’re going to do fine.”
They’d given him a plus one, and Micah had immediately called her.
“That’s easy for you to say,” he said, staring at his reflection in the mirror. “You’re good at these kinds of things.”
Libby pulled a hanger over her head and looked at the dress in the mirror. “Well if only the public knew Libby Kyle was gay, I could be the one dating Rory. But alas, here we are.”
