Walking out on the stage of Good Morning America felt like an out of body experience for Rory. Her nausea had completely vanished, but she still felt strange, off. She blamed it on the blinding lights, on the cameras, but she knew it had everything to do with Micah.
The crew had organized it so Rory and him shared a couch between the interviewer and Rachel. Feeling incredibly awkward, Rory took her seat, and let go of Micah’s hand. The instant she broke the connection, her palm vibrated with warmth, a strange sensation.
It was more of a loveseat than a couch, forcing her and Micah to sit so their thighs and shoulders touched. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Rachel’s agent miming instructions to get closer to him. She promptly ignored her.
After a brief introduction, the interviewer, Robin, turned to Rory.
“Rory, it’s so nice to finally meet you. I must say, you’ve done quite the job keeping a low profile. I had no idea Rachel had a twin.”
