Chapter 47: The Truth

After police had come to the house and confirmed that Rory was not being held captive, Micah left to return to the city. Without his cell, he was unsure of how to get a hold of Jessa, but he had called Libby on the landline and asked to meet.

She was waiting for him on the steps of her townhouse.

“Oh, thank god,” Libby said, wrapping her brother in a hug. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah,” he said. “I mean, I guess, considering everything. The cops cleared everything with Rachel’s story.”

“I told you that girl was trouble,” Libby said. “Why would she go and make up something like that?”

“We saw something we shouldn’t have Sunday night.”

“Like what?”

“I’ll tell you everything, but I need to find Jessa. She’s the only one who can set things right. Do you know where she is?”

“She’s at the club,” Libby said. “I’ll get us in.”

“Okay, great,” Micah said.
