Chapter 46: The Living

A dull, throbbing pain pulsed and itched from Heldon’s chest. He reached to scratch it, but his arms were as heavy as anchors. He squinted his eyes, eyebrows furrowing, his mouth felt impossibly dry and his head hazy with cotton.

Did he sleep in?

A calloused hand held his left hand.

In the back of his mind, he remembered something dark happened between him and the knight of the Sun Table, but he couldn’t quite grasp the thought. Heldon would think of it later because he just had the most wonderful dream.

He was engaged, and his fiancé was so handsome. He had dark golden curls, tan skin, and was built as solid as a maple tree. His eyes changed color from hazel to pink opals, and he had such a round backside too. He also had a voice like velvet and a laugh he couldn’t get enough of.
