Julien’s POV
Home
After my trip back home with Cionna and the run-in with Josey, I’m exhausted and have decided to take the day off from work to recoup. I thought about seeing my brother and parents again and the usual ache in my chest wasn’t as harsh. To them, it was a regular night, but to me, it had been one hundred long years.
I will never be able to thank Cionna for giving me the chance to see them again. If I knew a way for her to have the same experience, I would do it. A smile spread over my face as I thought of her. I felt my heart purr in response. Despite my efforts, she has become important to me.
I worry about Josey hurting her though. She doesn’t like competition and now she has her eyes set on Cionna. My blood boils at the thought that she would come to harm because of Josey. I pause at my anger. Things have changed so much between me and Cionna in a few short weeks.
