Chapter 37: Live To Die

Cionna’s POV

It’s the anniversary of my parent’s death, and my day started with my body feeling twenty times better than it had since leaving the hospital. I was anxious to finally begin the process of getting mom and dad back. Every step I’ve taken leading up to today was worth it.

Valentino and Celia agreed to meet me in the woods near the oldest church in the city and help me set up for the ritual. I wasn’t going to class today, so my plan was to spend the day resting and building up my strength for tonight. I’d had a hearty breakfast of apricot pancakes, egg whites, and pineapple juice. I did a bit of yoga to welcome peace and control over my day, and somehow despite all of that, I’m now standing in front of Julien’s apartment.

I flop my head backward as I whine. “What is wrong with me?”
