Andrew stood his ground against the reluctant vampire.
“I think we all want to know about this ring,” Andrew shrugged. “You have been set on finding this ring since we began the excavation.
Arras suddenly seemed very uncomfortable and backed away from the others in the room. Hoffman looked at the vampire with a kind eye.
“It’s your mother’s ring, we can understand there is some attachment there. We would like to know the story behind it. If the story is too difficult to tell…”
“The telling is easy,” Arras said quickly. “It’s the remembering that stirs up emotions long buried.”
“It can be painful…remembering,” said Rhea.
Aedan nodded, then looked expectantly at his friend.
Arras sighed, a deep, endless sigh that sounded like the rush of wind before a storm. He picked at a leaf that had blown through the window.
