"You should teach them respect for other's property." He didn't want them to end up with the same problems with the law as he did. With that intelligence, they could game the system until they landed in serious trouble.
And why was he thinking like this? They weren't his children. After he made her change the will, he'd do the decent thing: convince Lindi to accept money so they could live in a safe neighborhood, and then they'd go their separate ways. He frowned. He didn't like that thought as much as he should.
She laughed. "Yeah, I'll get right on that."
"I am serious, Lindi, with their intelligence, they can end up in really bad situations, and by the time they are caught in whatever mischief they've cooked up, they might end up in juvenile detention."
She glared at him. "Do you think I don't know that? That I haven't worked my butt off every day to teach them right from wrong? To ensure that they didn't end up intellectual giants with no human compassion."
