Chapter 30: Beautiful

She couldn't go through that again. She loved the twins and loved seeing them become the wonderful loving children they were. Couldn't wait to see them as young men. But getting to this point all by herself had been no picnic.

"I must be crazy. What if I get pregnant again? You'll just deny that the child was yours." She was ruining the evening with her fears, but any sane woman would hesitate.

"I promise you I won't do that," he said.

As if she could ever take his word on that. The image of a little girl with his dark hair and eyes, with maybe his stubborn chin and her build, popped into her mind.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "I love the twins; they'd love a baby brother or sister. If your swimmers break through a condom and the pill, I can raise another child. I've done it once, and I can do it again. I'd love her so much; she'd never feel rejected by you." Never again would she trust him to take responsibility for any consequences of their lovemaking.
