Chapter 13: The great Thales

Her eyes shone. She gestured with her hands as if this woumber were larger than life. He'd find him and take out his guts, and tie them in front of the human scum before he killed him. He would make him beg and plead for daring to try and impress the breeder of a Zyrgin warrior. Maybe he would keep him in a torture tube for a while. He wouldn't be so handsome after a few months in there. One look at him and Melisende would see that he was not one to be admired. Except, he knew females and especially human females had softness for those tortured. Even if they deserved being tortured, like any male who dared impress his breeder deserved.

A worrying thought occurred to him. This Thales probably had yellow hair, too. Melisende made a wide gesture with her hands, her eyes shining like the stars on a dark Zyrgin night. "He was the greatest man that ever lived. He had great knowledge of math and the planets." She tilted her chin as if daring him to speak against her human hero.
