Chapter 43: Food at Last

ALESSANDRO'S POV

Katrina had listened with wide eyes as Alessandro relayed the story of the events from the past few days. Though he'd been sure that she would ask about the prophecy or immediately storm upstairs to rid the castle of Sarina, she had done nothing but listen.

Beside him, Maria had eaten her fill. It'd been adorable to watch her thinking she was sneaky by grabbing a fourth and fifth serving of the meal Katrina had been making. She'd feigned needing to stretch her legs or get a drink of water only to come back with a plate full of more soups, rolls, and grilled vegetables.

Even though Alesandro’s stomach still rumbled, he'd felt it essential to explain all that had happened over the past few days first before diving into the full plate before him.

After he'd finished talking, he looked at Katrina, trying to gauge her reaction to everything.
