Chapter 2 Entered the Full-level Detective System and Obtained the Identity of a New Detective

After Luther left, Lucas finally opened his eyes again and looked at Diana meaningfully.

"Wow, he's such a handsome man! He's just graduated from college. He was so young." Diana couldn't help but want to touch his face. Lucas turned his face and cleverly avoided the woman's hand.

Diana didn't mind. She took out the recorder pen from her bag and showed it to Lucas. "Now I officially start the interview. I will record the whole process. I hope you can communicate with me honestly."

Lucas was about to speak when he suddenly felt as if his whole body had been sucked into a black hole. In the blink of an eye, he had come to another space.

"Welcome to the full-level detective system. You are the son of heaven's selection. Through the trial, you can obtain all the detective skills in this system."

A robot-like prompt sound came from the space.

"Who are you? What kind of full-level detective system are you?"

"A qualified detective won't ask such a stupid question. He will find the answer with his own eyes and heart."

"We can help you evolve, from brain development to physical function evolution. If you behave well, you can get extra rewards. Now let's start your study!"

As soon as Lucas finished his words, a large virtual screen appeared in front of him, which showed all kinds of subject knowledge related to the criminal investigation, such as crime, forensic science, physical evidence technology, spot investigation, shooting, capture, and so on. Although the subjects were similar to those in school, the contents were different, and many concepts and techniques were far beyond the current criminal investigation level.

Lucas quickly slid the virtual screen and learned the knowledge eagerly.

In this space, Lucas seemed to be unable to sense the time. He didn't even need to eat and sleep. What was more surprising was that his learning ability had been improved exponentially. Not only could he be able to read ten lines at a glance and be single-minded, but all the knowledge he had learned was engraved in his mind like a recorder as if he had been integrated with his whole body.

After all the courses were finished, the prompt tone sounded again, "Congratulations on your completion of the theoretical study. The system has automatically rewarded you with 50 points. Next, please complete our actual combat assessment tasks."

"What is the actual combat assessment?" Before he could finish his question, Lucas was sent out by the system.

"1990..." Lucas looked at the calendar hanging on the wall and examined the surrounding environment as soon as possible.

There were 9 policemen in the big office, five of whom were dressed in police uniform and four in casual clothes. From the documents piled up on the table, it seemed that it was the criminal investigation team he had been dreaming of.

"Hey, young man! What are you thinking about? Come and help us sort out the files!" A big-bellied policeman knocked on Lucas's head and took him directly into the record room.

The dust covered their faces and the two of them began to cough. The big-bellied policeman quickly hid aside and said, "Brant, come on in. According to the new rules of the superior, a special cleaning up work will be carried out recently. All the cases that haven't been closed for nearly 20 years will be sorted out according to their ages, and then all the cases that haven't been closed in the past twenty years will be picked out. Give them to me before tomorrow."

After giving the order, the big-bellied policeman couldn't hold back his pride and left with a snicker.

"Brant, this is my identity to carry out tasks. It seems that no matter where I go, the newcomers are always bullied to death!" Lucas sighed and walked into the record room to sort out the files.

"Wait, Brant. Is he the most famous Holmes Brant in Texas in the 90s?"

"The detective, Brant, who has solved numerous big cases? He is a person in the textbook. He has participated in more than 3000 major criminal cases in more than a dozen countries and presides over more than 300 cases every year on average. More importantly, Brant is my father's professional tutor. I was in his body!"

Lucas was extremely excited. He also realized that the elites in every industry started from the most ordinary work, so he decided to do the current work.

There were total of six bookshelves in the record room, with tens of thousands of files of different sizes. Thanks to him, he had just completed the evolution of the system. It seemed that he had a huge workload, and it only took Lucas 2 hours to complete it.

He was not in a hurry to show his work but waited until the second day to hand over the sorted data to the big belly police.

"Young man, you are so agile. When did you finish tidying up last night?" The big-bellied policeman seemed to be very satisfied with Brant's work and showed a relieved smile.

"It's not too late. I made it at noon." Lucas didn't tell the truth. He learned from the system that showing weakness in front of a senior was a rule to quickly integrate into the new environment.

"That's right. Young people have to suffer a lot to grow up quickly!"

"Thank you for your encouragement. I will continue to work hard!"

"It's time for you to work hard. The red house ghost case you're responsible for hasn't made any progress in the past two months!" The big-bellied policeman reminded.

Lucas opened the file of the ghost case in the red house and began to study it carefully. Two months ago, the red house was demolished and approved. The local government was going to build a chemical plant here, which was a big project related to the city's economic development.

However, on the first day the construction team moved in, the red house began to be haunted. Every night, there were strange sounds, accompanied by faintly blue light, and often half a person tall ghost shadows floating inside.

There was a rumor in the community that the old owner of the red house had come back. In order to protect his home, the team demolishing was so scared that they didn't dare to enter.

The red house was a building left behind in the last century. There were many residents around, but they were all the people at the bottom of society. According to experience, this ghost case must be done by the nearby residents, just to prevent the tearing down.

The police thought the case was very simple, so they directly handed it over to the new policeman Brant. But the honest man insisted on finding the exact evidence, and the suspect hadn't been found for two months.

After reading the case file, Lucas went to the red house for a field investigation. He had a general idea of the nature of the case. In the evening, Lucas hid in the red house and watched the whole process of the farce.

On the second day, Lucas took out the sorted investigation report and handed it to the big belly police.

"There is no ghost at all. Is it a trick of children?" The big-bellied policeman couldn't believe Brant's report.
