Chapter 07 Demon Slayer Corp

Kiriya Ubuyashiki POV.

I, Kiriya together with my youngest sister Kanata was task by dear father as examiner in the Final Selection which was held in Mount Fujikasane. As we walk up the stairs I felt a strange gaze. There I saw a black haired youth watching us from a tree near the stairs. As I started at him he simply closed his eyes losing interest.

We gathered all the people who'll take the test and explained the Final Selection's mechanics. After that all the participant went towards the designated test area while me and my sister went inside a temple below the mountain to observe using the Kasugai Crows.

We started observing the participants whom started dwindling. It was after the third day that we noticed that the guy who stared at as in the stairs was not just average as the rest of the participants.

He started hunting demons as if they where his hunting game. He killed over twenty demons and help his fellow participants. Some of those he helped died after separating from him as they still took the test while others gave up and left the test area.

In the last day we saw him battling against the strongest demon in the area. He fought and killed the Hand Demon which killed a lot of participants. For an average Demon Slayer it was no easy feat let alone a participant taking the Final Selection. He then walk towards the Wisteria barrier as the test is done. We waited for him and greeted him as he approach us.

""We congratulate you for passing the test. You would be given the standard uniform of Demon Slayer Corp together with a Kasugai Crow that will lead and inform you about your mission. And lastly we would provide you with a katana that is made by the one of your choosing. Please choose one of this ores."" (Kiriya and Kanata)

He was quite stunned as he was the only participant whom passed the test. He then said.

"Can I take the one with me because I'd like to forge my own katana myself?" (Participant)

Stunned by his statement since every single Demon Slayer's Nichirin blade was forge by the Sword Forging Village, we agreed to him. He then requested if he can take two ores. We decided to give him another as he was the only participant whom passed the test. He then took two ores and bid farewell to us.

"Kanata, send a report to dearest father about the result and also asked information about that participant." (Kiriya)

"Yes dearest brother." (Kanata)

After saying that, Kanata took a Kasugai Crow and send a report towards our dearest father.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki POV.

(AN: Kagaya Ubuyashiki has light skin and black shoulder length hair. He has a curse mark that is slowly killing him that also makes his skin look as if it was rotting spreading down his face and covering his eyes making him unable to see.)

I was sitting on the balcony when a Kasugai Crow came and reported the result of the test. Apparently only one passed the test, but this one has incredible skills. As he hunted more than twenty demons including the Hand Demon which was the strongest one in the area.

'I need to ask the Corp to catch demons as the number of demons in the area became so low. ' (Kagaya)

"Good work. You may rest now." (Kagaya)

As he said that the Kasugai Crow flew out. He then ask information about the newest Demon Slayer. Waiting for a few minutes my wife Amane carrying a paper.

(AN: Amane Ubayashiki is a fair woman with pale skin and large, lavender eyes and short eyebrows. She wears her white-colored right-swept hair in a short ponytail with two strands of hair let loose at the front.)

"Here is the information about the one that passed today dear. " (Amane)

"Thank you Amane. " (Kagaya)

As I read the report I was amazed as the information about him. His name is Shin 14 years old, lived at the inn manage by our information gatherer Pinako. Before that he was saved by the Water Pillar Tomioka Giyu. Staying there he started training and created his own breathing.

'Ripple Breathing Style huh. Such genius creating an original breathing without anyone teaching. Incredible!!' (Kagaya)

Staying with Pinako he started to train and hunting demons until he joined the Final Selection where according to Kanata and Kiriya that he hunted almost all the demons in the mountain and even killed the strongest one. A genuine smile appeared in my face. I coughed and Amane rushed to my side.

"Are you okay dear." (Amane)

"Yeah I'm okay. " (Kagaya)

"You seemed happy today dear. " (Amane)

"Yeah Amane. It seems that a talented person has joined and I feel that this guy would bring change. I feel like he would likely be the one who will accomplish our life time goal. To wash away the shame (Muzan) of the Ubayashiki family. " (Kagaya)

As I said that I looked at the clear blue sky.

Tomioka Guys POV.

The Final Selection was over and only a single participant passed. As I read the report the participant killed almost all the demons we have captured and imprisoned there. He also killed the Hand Demon which killed Saibito. I failed to kill that demon but the newcomer killed it.

'Saibito may you rest in peace as the demon that killed you has been killed.' (Giyu)

As I offer a prayer to my friend I noticed a familiar face.

"Tomioka, heard about the news. A prodigy had joined our Corp." (????)

"Yeah Shinobu." (Giyu)

Shinubo Kocho the head of the Butterfly Mansion and one of the Pillar of Demon Slayer Corp. She is a petite young woman with a pale complexion and large, compound-like eyes that lack pupils, only a haze of gradient purple, making her eyes appear similar to those of insects. She has black wavy hair that fades to dark purple, styled at the back of her head into a flat yakai-maki bun, fastened with a white, turquoise and light purple butterfly ornament. She has center-split, ear-length, voluminous curtain bangs that flow down to frame the sides of her face, with two slightly thinner chin-length locks of hair in front of her ears below them.

"Hmm. If you show such weak reaction you wouldn't make a single friend." (Shinobu)

"....." (Giyu)

"I'm just joking." (Shinobu)

"..." (Giyu)

"Well maybe? Anyway this slayer seemed connected to you." (Shinobu)

"How so? " (Giyu)

"The information that Master Kagaya given me is that he was ones saved by you two years ago." (Shinobu)

"....." (Giyu)

'The one I saved two years ago.... Hmm.. I see, so he joined the Corp. I wonder if his seeking revenge to that guy (Doma).' (Giyu)

As I was thinking I remembered that Shinobu is the same as him. I have Shinobu a deep look.

"Why are you giving me such look?" (Shinobu)

"Nothing.. I just remember something." (Giyu)

"What is it? " (Shinobu)

"It's just the newcomer is seeking revenge to the demon who you are seeking too." (Giyu)

"....." (Shinobu)

An awkward silence permeates as Shinobu had a scary expression on her, face not her usual teasing smile. I walk outside the Butterfly Mansion and started patrolling.

"The same target huh." (Shinobu)
