"Are you applying to a Guild?" Orpheus suddenly asked.
Vince nodded his head. "Did the God of Death also told you about it?"
"Nope. I just figured based on the bus you took. The branches of the four guilds were always near each other so people won't choose a guild just because it's closer to them. How idiotic. People can't go to guilds that they don't have necessary skills for," he muttered with a disdainful look on his face.
"Mr. Orpheus, as a priest, what guild should I choose?" he decided to asked some advice from him because he's someone with the same class and God. He might have some good idea. His level should also be high since he's a Pope.
Now that he thought about it, what is Mr. Orpheus doing in the Outer Layer when someone at his level should be living in the Inner Layer?
Then it hit him. 'Don't tell me he came all the way here because the God of Death asked him to meet me?'
Orpheus shrugged his shoulders. "Depends on you."
"If you wanted to focus on getting stronger and level up, then you should choose the Adventure Guild. But if money is your priority but still wanted to hone your skills and level up, then go to the Mercenary Guild. Merchant Guild is good too. Although leveling up might be hard, this guild gave the best benefits among all of the Guilds out there. For the Production Guild, I don't think you'll qualify since usually, they only accept mages and specialist."
Vince agree with him. The Production Guild mostly accept specialist. This class were deemed useless in battle, but they're mostly, Alchemist, Blacksmith, Poison Master, Herbalist, and many other profession that excel in production.
"How about Mr. Orpheus? What guild are you part of?" he's especially curious.
The other just rolled his eyes. "I didn't joined one."
His answer surprised Vince. "Eh? Are you serious? But why?"
"Joining a guild have a lot of benefits but it also have a lot of restriction on players."
He tilted his head in confusion. "Won't being an independent player more restricting? You won't be able to enter a dungeon..."
Since dungeons are mostly monopolized by the guilds. For example, 40% of the dungeons were monopolized by the Adventure Guild, 30% were in the hands of the Player's Association, while the 20% were shared by the other three guilds.
The remaining 10% were unclaimed and free for everyone to take. As long as you got a permit from the Player's Association and you met requirements, you can enter it. But this is mostly because the dungeon weren't dangerous and there's nothing much to gain.
For example, many goblin dungeons were unclaimed as they were mostly F-rank dungeons. They were also very common so their corpse won't be bought by much. Usually, only the loot that came from killing the boss were worth it to take.
"That's true. But you see, as long as you have money and connections, you can just buy the new dungeons in the auction at the Player's Association. That's how those guilds monopolized the dungeons anyway," he casually shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal.
Vince pouted in envy. This mister must've been filthy rich. For him, entering dungeons have never been a problem despite being unaffliated. However, Vince have neither of those two things.
Orpehus saw the expression on his face and sighed. Then he thought of something. A coin matrialized in front of him. He quickly tossed it to towards Vince which the other caught with a puzzled look on his face.
It was in the color of black with gold linings. The side facing him is a white skull while the other side have a grim reaper's scythe on it. The blade on the scythe seemed shine as light hit its surfaced.
"This is my welcoming gift for you. Just show it to the receptionist after you got into the guild you wanted and they'll know what to do."

After they reached the bus stop, Vince and Orpheus departed the bus. Orpheus bid him goodbye after getting his phone number.
His phone rang and saw an unfamiliar number. Before he could answer it, the call ended and he reveived a message.
Unknown Number:
Save my number and call me if you need anything.
It was a simple message but he immediately understand who's the sender. He saved the number on his contact list as, 'Pope Orpheus' before replying.
You: I saved it! I hope we meet again in the future. It was really nice meeting you. ^_^
Mr. Orpheus didn't reply but he didn't mind as the other might be busy. He walked towards his destination. It was the center of Halan City where he can find the only branch of the four guilds.
The central place were protected by gigantic gates. People needed to write down their information before entering. The information in the player's website said that one could show their player's license so they could go in immediately so that's what he did.
As expected, the guards immediately opened the gates for him.
"Wow..."
His eyes brightened after seeing the bustling scene in front of him. It was still early in the morning but there are already a lot of people inside. Since this is where the four guilds' branch were located, a lot of players came here.
He could also see some stalls where other players were selling artifacts. There are also independent players trying to recruit people in their party.
There are also some food stalls and of course, from the entrance, he could see four towering buildings.
They were at the same height and all similarly eye-catching.
Vince decided to visit the Mercenary Guild first before looking through some stalls in here. He wanted to buy some protective artifacts for himself.
"Handsome, do you need some material for your new equipment? You can come at my store?"
"Finding a long-range support!"
"How expensive! Who are you kididng here?"
He walked through the bustling surroundings, looking around with sparkling eyes. He could hear some conversations here and then.
Looking at his surroundings, he really felt like a player now.
Before he knew it, he was already standing in front of the Mercenary Guild's building.
Vince took a heavy breath before taking a step forward with a determined look on his face.
He entered the building and saw some players inside the lobby. Some of them look at his way after he entered but they immediately look away. None of them seemed to care about his presence giving him more confidence to move.
He walked towards the counter and state his puspose.
"Hello. I wanted to join the Mercenary Guild," he muttered in a low voice.
The receptionist smiled at him before handing him a form. "Please give me your player's license after filling up this form."
He immediately followed the instructions of the receptionist. After he was done, he handed both the form and his license towards the lady receptionist.
His level had automatically changed after the battle. She checked the authenticity of the llicense before he input his information on the computer.
"Before you can enter the guild, we'll have to test your ability. If you passed, we will have you signed an agreement contract with our guild. If you're okay with it, let me guide you to the testing arena."
Vince nodded his head. "I'm okay with your conditions."
The lady smiled and guide him towards the elevator. "This way please."
They boarded the elevator with some other players who also wanted to join the guild. He smiled and greeted them with a slight bow when he saw them.
Some of them awkwardly smiled back while most of them ignored him.
Vince saw her clicked 'B4' which probably meant basement four. 'The building is so tall, what's the need for so many basement?'
Then his mind wander about the test. 'Will it be another illusion. I'm a healer so I don't think it would be hard.' He thought with a smile.
However, when they reached their destination, Vince's jaw dropped to the ground at what he saw. Actually, it's not only him. The other players were also shocked.
There's actually a huge underground arena in here!
