Chapter 13

Her mind wandered as she sat in the taxi. What does Dr Asare have to say to me? Is it time to go yet? One thing Anowa was dreading was the protocol and formalities at the hospital gate. She would have to change into Personal Protective Equipment and take her temperature, sanitize her whole body and go through the same process afterwards. What a tiresome process! After that long process she so dreaded, Anowa was free to see Dr Asare in his office. He seemed cool and collected when he invited her in, closed the door after her and asked her to sit down. It figures it was going to be a long talk.

" Thanks for coming," he said. Anowa nodded nervously.

" How's your patient?" Anowa's face lit up when she thought about him. " He's fine."

" I learnt you've been giving him sedatives and sleeping pills? Have you?" Anowa began to fumble and stammer and did not make any sense at all.

"Just tell me the truth. It would be better for you."

"He needed it," she burst out.
