Love at Lockdown

Gyebi and Asabea stopped in front of another house in the community which seemed empty. The doors were, however, unlocked and some of the opened and closed without anyone else's help at the same time, making so much noise. The two wondered why the doors would make so much noise in a house that was so small as the one they had stopped by. Empty vessels indeed could make the most noise. As soon as the van pulled up in front of her house, the little girl came running, embracing the van. 


" We need some food," she yelled pitifully. 


" That's why we're here," said Asabea. " Be patient until we alight, sweetheart." 


" Are you serious? I was just trying my luck" 


" You have your heart's desire now. You should be proud of yourself, that you didn't give up trying." 


" Please don't deceive me. Many people have come and left us empty-handed. Some only came to ask questions and that was all. It was all empty promises!"
