Chapter 9: Dress up
"Devika?" I call out as I walk downstairs.
"Devi?" I call out again but there's no reply. I'm pretty sure I heard her.
I walk into the kitchen to see if she's there, but she isn't there.
"We meet again Stacey Cooper". Someone says causing me to spin around immediately.
I spot Marina on my couch smoking.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Nice question Stace". She says as she stands up from the chair and walks away halting in front of me. Her breath made me so uncomfortable.
"How'd you get in?" I ask.
"Is that how to welcome a guest?" She asks as smoke escapes her lips making me retch and she smirks and mutters something I couldn't hear.
"A guest? What do you want from me?" I ask.
"Which one do you want me to answer. *What I'm doing here or how I got in or what I want from you?*" She asks.
"All of them bitch". I say to her.
"Bitch?" She says and twitches her nose. "Your choice of words is quite paralyzing". She says to me.
"Coming from someone with a half brain". I say.
"Did you just say I've a half brain?" She asks.
"And I'd say it again if you don't get the fuck out of my house this instant!" I yell.
"And what if I refuse?" She asks walking over to the couch, throwing herself on it...legs crossed, arms outspread on the headrest of the couch. "You only mouth threats but you're such a weakling". She says.
"Marina! I'm gonna ask you nicely for the fucking last time!" I yell. "What do you want?" I ask.
"Oh...a cocktail juice". She says.
"You son of a - what do you want from me?" I ask.
"Simple. Stay away from Cam. He belongs to me!" She says and I burst into laughter as a puzzled look forms on her face.
"That's it?" I ask with laughter laced in my voice. "Thought you had something important to say. I think you've overstayed your welcome. Use the door". I say to her pointing at the door.
"It's funny to you now. But it won't be so funny if you don't stay away from Cam. I'd kill you to be with Cam if that's the only way I can have him". She says after she halts in front of me.
"Empty threats. You can't do nothing Marina! I dare you!" I say to her face.
"Watch your back Stace". She says and then walks away.
"Such a puppy". I say to myself after she walks away.
"Is it my eyes deceiving me or did I just see Marina step out from here?" Devika asks as she walks into the house shutting the door after her.
"Welcome babes". I say. "You saw Marina...Marina Gordon. Yes. She came here to warn me to stay away from someone who clearly doesn't love her or give a fuck about her". I say.
"You mean Cam?" She asks dropping the shopping bags on the glass table and I grab it immediately.
"Yes, Cam". I say as I dip my hand into the bag.
"And what'd you tell her?" She asks.
"I dared her. I'm so not gonna leave Cam for her. If she thinks she's evil...then she doesn't know me yet. I'm so evil Devi, you know it". I say to her.
"Glad you didn't buy her threats". Devika says.
"And why would I buy a puppy's threat?" I ask taking out the stuff my hand got a hold of out of the bag.
It's a black gown. It's leather and shimmery, it's a mini gown...an off shoulder gown with sparkles of diamond all over it. It's slim fit. I take out the other gown. It's a long gown, slim fit too with a slit that stops high up at my laps. it's an off shoulder gown too with glittery stuffs on it. It's a red gown...the opening at the back forms a *V* that stops at my waistline. I take out the next gown. It's just like the red gown, only difference is that it's royal blue and it's mini.
"I do like this one". I say to her.
"I knew you would" She says to me.
"So, what's your pick?" I ask her.
"Either of the minis. You can wear the red one when you guys have a dinner date next time or prom date". She says to me.
"I like the blue one. I think I'd go with it". I say to her.
"Did you get me stillettos?" I ask.
"Um..yeah". She says.
"I already have one. Glass heels. Cam got it for me on Christmas day last year". I say to her.
"Make it special. Wear it for him". Devika says.
Just then my phone beeps and I check it.
Baby I'm on my way to your house. I'd be there in an hour. Hope you're ready??
"We need to get you dressed immediately so we don't keep Cam waiting when he gets here". Devika says.
"I already cleaned up. So let's just get in with it". I say as we both climb the stairs heading for the dressing room.
**In The Dressing Room**
I quickly take out a black lingerie and put it on. I take out a transparent bra too and put it on, then I slide into my gown and then walk over to the mirror and sit on the chair facing the mirror as Devika makes me up and styles my hair.
She made it curly then she applied mascara on my lashes. Then a pink lips gloss to go. She draws my brows arch and then applies contour and the rest of 'em on my face.
I put on my blue choker and my silver earrings. She helps me strap my blue bracelet that looked exactly like my choker on my hands. Then I apply my cologne and put on my heels. I take my royal blue purse and stuff some money and my phone in it. She helped fix a royal blue nails on my fingers. They were so lovely.
"Thanks Devi". I say to her.
"Ya! Go kill Cam". She says smirking at me.
"Yeah baby with the looks" I say to her and then I hug her.
We both walk down the stairs then towards the car park and then I received a text from Cam again.
Babe I'm at your house already. Done yet?
I tap on the reply button and my keyboard pops up.
Yes. I'm at the car park. Where are you
I text back.
Behind you
He replies and says it to me at the same time causing me to spin around.
"Okay Cam. I'm ready". I say to him.
"Yeah baby. I see". He says checking me out as Devika smiles at me and gives me a thumb up and I blush hard.
"I'd see you later Devi". I say to her.
"Um...Devika. Bye. We'd see you later". Cam says snaking his arms around my waist walking me up to the car as I turn my heard around to face Devi then I blow her a kiss and wink at her before entering the car.
Cam opens the door for me and I step in, then he shuts the door after me and walks round to enter the car.
"Thank you". I mouth to Devika as she smiles and waves at me and I wave back and then Cam speeds off.
