57 Jan Halski

Niedzic felt a shiver. Could this young man have been Adam Lechoń? If so, Halski's fascination might have turned out to be more morbid than he thought. And more dangerous.

“May I see that album?” he asked. “It is very important.”

Perhaps the woman hoped to clear her husband's suspicions in this way, or perhaps she wanted to dispel her own. In any case, she went to the desk.

“OK” Alina Halska agreed and took out an album from the desk drawer. She handed it to the policeman.

Niedzic opened it and pressed his lips together. It was worse than he had expected. Much worse.

The photo actually showed Adam Lechon, but he was no longer a teenager.

The photo showed an adult Lechoń on the beach, in a swimsuit, and it looked as if it had been taken by an experienced stalker.
