Eliane

I continued to stare at the three guys. I was curious. David said something but I wasn't paying attention to him.

"Elaine what are you-" he stops once he sees what I'm looking at. Who I'm looking at.

"Stop looking at them. Turn around." He whispered and turned me around abruptly.

"What's wrong with them?" I asked. I'm confused. What's the problem? David didn't answer my question. He just ignored me but he kept his hand in mines. Not wanting for me to walk away.

I wanted to look back again but I didn't want David to yank me again. The lunch lady asked what I wanted and I looked at the food. They had pizza, salad, and more pizza. So I just asked for pizza.

David got the same thing and we waited for the lady to hand us our food. We grabbed our plates, she put our slices on there, we paid for our food, and then we walked back to the table.

As we were walking back, I turned my head to the right and saw those same guys staring at me. David was ahead of me so he didn't see me staring back at them. Sitting down at the table, Josh and Ana started talking to David about what they were doing after school. I just zoned out.

Those guys just stared at me. Just kept staring at me. They had a straight face. Not one of them smiled, waved, anything. I don't know why David is acting the way he is though. Those guys are just strangers.

"Are you alright? You seem deep in thought." Josh commented. I looked at him and he seemed genuinely concerned.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just have a lot on my mind."

"Well I know what'll take your mind off of whatever's consuming it. A party. Tonight at my house." I looked around the table.

David was looking at me as he bit into his pizza.

"I don't know if my mom will let me go..." I trailed off and bit into my pizza.

"I hope she will. It starts at 9:00pm." I just said ok and finished eating my pizza. Lunch went by pretty quick after that. Josh and Ana went to their classes as David walked me to mines.

It was very nice of him and I felt like I had to do something for him in return. Like trying my best to go to the party. David left to go to his class and I was in mines bored.

After more boring classes, school was finally over, and I couldn't be more happy. David was already standing out of my class room door waiting for me with a happy face.

"So how was your first day?" I shrugged.

"It was fine. I met new people so that's the only good thing." I smiled up at him and he smiled at me. He's such a nice boy. And he's a gentleman.

I was about to say something but was cut off when I felt my phone vibrate. Grabbing my phone out of my hand, I looked down at the text from mom.

Mom: "Sorry honey. I won't be able to pick you up today. I got called into work early. Text me when you get home. I left you a key under the mat. Love you."

Me: "Ok. Love you too."

David must've seen my irritated face expression. "What's wrong?"

"My mom isn't able to pick me up today. So seems like I have to walk home." We walked outside and I was about to walk home when David stopped me.

"I'll just drop you off."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I couldn't have you walking." So I took him up on his offer and walked to his car. We talked along the way about school, teachers, and classes.

Next thing I know, those same three guys from lunch were walking right towards us.
