Eliane

David dropped me off at my house. Told me that he would pick me up tomorrow morning, I'd just have to ask my mom first. I had put my tacos on the kitchen counter and the house key as well. Going upstairs, I dropped my book bag on the floor in my room, and took my shoes off. Going back downstairs, I put three tacos in the microwave, and put the other three in the fridge.

Looking around, this house felt empty. Wasn't nothing around. It wasn't nothing to do. I didn't want to be left alone here. I pulled out my phone to text David but he beat me to it.

David: "Wyd?"

Me: "Just heating up my tacos. I'm so bored."

David: "I am too. I just got home and I wish we would've spent more time together."

Me: "I wish we did too :(."

David was so sweet. As I was waiting for his reply, I suddenly heard a knock on the door. Walking out of the kitchen, I looked at the front door.

Who could that be? No one knows where I live besides David? And he told me that he just got home. I walked over to the door and got on my tippy toes to look into the peep hole. There wasn't no one out there. And my mom told me to never let strangers in.

"Who is it?" I waited for a response but I didn't get one. Unlocking the door, I cracked it open. As I looked down, I saw a package with my name on it. I opened the door enough to be able to grab the package. Looking around, I couldn't see anyone. I didn't see no one.

So I just closed the door and locked it before going back to the kitchen. The microwave went off but that was the least of my concern right now.

Elaine was written on the front of the package in beautiful handwriting. It's probably from school.

Ripping it open, a red rose was inside. It was beautiful. I could see the thorns so I was careful as to how I wanted to grab it. Once I took it out, I smiled.

David is so sweet.

I smelled the rose and I couldn't help but think of David even more. Even though we just met, he was already so kind. He introduced me to his friend group, bought me food, and took me home.

I'll admit, I am surprised he even stopped to talk to me. I put the rose on the counter and washed my hands. It was time to eat and take a shower. I'm glad they didn't give us any homework. That would've been hell already.

Hours went by and before I knew it, it was already 9:00pm. My mom texted me and said she would be here soon.

I was just laying in bed, scrolling on social media. Seeing pictures and videos of people from my old schools having fun with their life. Even though we weren't in contact, we still had each other's social media. My tv was on but the volume was low.

Turning to my side, I looked outside. The moon was shining and the stars were bright.

"Look at the sky tonight. All of those stars have a reason." Lil Peep lyrics came into my mind and I couldn't help but smile.

Before I knew it, my eyes had closed.
