To a miserable life

31 To a miserable life

Zara missed dinner.

In her defence, she didn’t feel any hint of hunger—how could she feel hungry after what she’d said today? She’d bared her soul, her past and the darkness that had lurked within her for years. In a way, she had to admit, it was relieving to unburden herself.

However, another burden presented itself to her. Andrew didn’t believe her. After she’d told him everything, he’d only asked her to sleep and she had, only waking up later in the evening. When she’d woken, he’d been in the room, seriously tapping away on his computer.

He didn’t as much as give her a glance and that had sunk her heart to the abyss. A part of her was convinced that Andrew was judging her then, thinking of reasons to label her as notorious. She didn’t blame him though. It just hurt that he wasn’t listening.

‘Well,’ she thought, sitting up on the bed, ‘it’s not going to be my business if Ethan deals him in.’
