“You did this, didn’t you?” Zara asked, her voice choked. Her eyes had clouded over and her vision was blurred. “You shut them down?”

Andrew nodded, smiling fondly. He pulled another paper and wrote on it. After a while, he handed it to her and she read. “They didn’t deserve to treat you like that or the other kids. They didn’t have the right to turn you into things that you didn’t want to do.

“After you told me what happened to you behind the scenes of the fake smiles, I was pissed off. I began to get in touch with people to see what we could dig up. Finally, we were able to find evidence and the court ordered the demolition.

“I did it for you, Zara. So you could be happy. I don’t want you living in the shadow of this dark past. You don’t deserve to bear the name of that cursed place as a last name.”
