Chapter 5.2 - Diana Charlotte

Seeing the silent of Al, Iki immediately hit him on the shoulder to wake him up. "Sister Diana asked for alcohol, Al," he repeated Diana's request.

"W-what!? Was this woman talking earlier??" thought Al surprised.

"If there is no alcohol, warm water is also okay," Diana said.

"Okay! This woman is talking to me," Al still suprised.

"Should I get it?" said Ika offering herself.

Hearing Ika's voice, made Al come back to his senses, "No need, I'll take it," he replied then sped away and in a few seconds he was back again.

"So fast," Diana thought.

Al then handed him a large glass bottle, "I got it from the human world. It looks like it's alcohol, and it looks like it can be used," he explained.

She accepted it and read the label, "Vodka...? Yes, this works too," she commented.

"So vampires drink alcohol too? I thought they only drank blood," thought Diana.

Then she cleaned and treated the wound. She cleaned the wound first with vodka, without wincing in pain. While Iki and Ika even frowned to see it.

After that, she applied the medicine to the wound, she did it very carefully. As a final touch, she covered the wound with gauze, then bandaged it with a piece of cloth because Al didn't give her enough gauze.

Al was quite astonished to see the show in front of him. Apart from this woman talking to him earlier, she was also able to treat herself. This is something that humans rarely do. More than what he saw, this woman seemed to be treating her own wounds like a skilled doctor.

"Interesting," thought Al.

***

The night is getting late, but the moon is still devoted to giving its light. The air that blows is getting colder, making the warmth of the fireplace in the houses of the human world become nothing.

However, different from Haltz Castle in the vampire world. Not a single fireplace is lit here. To vampires, this was very useless because in the presence or absence of fire, they still wouldn't feel cold because their body was cold themselves.

"So she talked to the twins?" Rai asked.

"I was quite surprised too, but she spoke," replied Al.

Currently, Rai and Al are alone in the throne room, without any servants or soldiers on guard. They talk privately. Under these circumstances, Al will give up all his respect for Rai. He will talk as freely as possible and Rai has no problem with that. He even found it interesting, because a vampire dared to speak disrespectfully to him.

"You said her name was Diana?"

"Yes, Diana. Diana Charlotte," Al explained.

"What are you going to do with that woman now? If Harawaltz finds out there is a human here, then it will be very dangerous. Her presence can cause conflict," he continued.

Rai looked around the room and sharpened his hearing, "Where are they?"

"Who do you mean?"

"The twins. Where are they?"

"They were in the woman's room and it looks like they fell asleep there."

He frowned, "Sleep? Are you sure they're asleep and not eating?" he asked and Al nodded his head.

Rai was surprised, he knew very well that his twin siblings would not be able to deal with humans. Their thirst was still unstable, and if they faced a human it was certain that the human would die.

They would be drained of blood by these twin vampires, and stopping them at such a time was impossible. In a hungry state, their strength is much stronger than an adult vampire. This was also made worse by the fact that they were part of the main family of the Haltz Clan.

"This is weird, they should have eaten her. But instead, they treated her like one of us and—" Ah! Al just realized something.

"What? What's with that surprised face of yours?" Rai asked.

"I… I just realized! They call that woman Sister!"

"Then...?" Rai responded normally.

"You know that, Rai. They are arrogant just like you, especially Iki. It's impossible for Iki to call that woman Sister! Even I always call by name!"

Rai seemed to be thinking about something, "I don't understand. What's with being called "Sister"? Is that something you have to protest?"

Al sighed, "I did protest, but that's not what I meant. Isn't it strange to call that woman "Sister Diana"? Why should you call her that? That woman is a human, not a vampire-like you who should be respected."

"I do not care. Just let them. If you want to protest, then do it to those children."

Al sighed again, "You guys are the same. It's a waste to talk to you."

Rai then put on a serious face, "Go to the human world and find information about that woman. Killing her now would be too dangerous. You understand?"

"Just kill her. Going to the human world is too much trouble."

"Fine, then you kill her."

"Of course you did. I don’t want and cannot kill humans."

"I also don't want to waste my energy and time on humans. So just take my order and come back as soon as possible. Do you understand, Albert?"

"No, I don't understand. Why are you so curious about that woman? You just have to kill her and it's over."

"Why do you want to kill her so much? She is my food, it is my right to kill her or keep her alive."

Al sighed, "You didn't notice? It wasn't only the woman who was weird but you too."

"What's wrong with me? I don't find it strange."

"Of course, you won't feel it. Even if you ask the woman, she will also say she's not weird. This is the first time you haven't killed your food. Are you not aware?"

"Ah... That's right," Rai averted his gaze, "But this is also the first time a human has lived after I ate. So am I not completely weird?"

Rai looked back at Al, "Just do what I say and find out about her, or just go to the Waltz."

Al put his hand to his chest and lowered his head slightly, "Okay, Rai," he answered respectfully but followed by a sigh.

Al immediately walked away, run towards the darkness of the Silver Forest, and disappeared among the rows of trees. Meanwhile, Rai slightly pursed the corners of his lips, thinking about Al's previous words.

"It's really fun," said Rai.
