Entering

Three Months Later...

It had been some time since the duo had begun their voyage toward the eventual destination of the cave.

Even though Dolion questioned Blade many times about where they were going, Blade would only say, "Don't worry, trust me." It was words that made Dolion's worries ease, for this momentary ease to be obliterated after Blade and Dolion, found themselves lost in the forest.

Since he chose to hide the map away from his vision because of its inconvenience, there were many times when Blade lost the trail.

Luckily, he simply needed to order the system to make the mini-map resurface in his vision, to then once more find the correct trail, leading to the cave.

Over these three months, many things changed for the duo. Dolion had fully recovered, along with his cultivation rising from a Level 3 Meridian Opening Realm Expert to a Level 5.

Three months ago, Blade had realized that his cultivation had regressed from Level 4 to Level 3 Meridian Opening Realm Expert.

When asked, the system replied.

{With the awakening of your bloodline, it seems your body's anatomy changed ever so slightly.

The fourth meridian you unlocked was clogged once more.

But, you shouldn't worry since you would be able to eventually unlock it with the same effort, and to top it off, your strength may be levels higher than what it is now}

At the current moment, his cultivation had already reached Level 6 Meridian Opening Realm.

Besides cultivation at night, Blade would kill whatever creature he came across. The required amount of experience points needed to level up continuously rose, so he needed to gain any chance of raising it.

'System, show me my status..!' Blade ordered in his mind, moments before the mouth of the cave came to view.

WAA!

These words written in gold on a blue holographic screen were the sole reason for the appearance of a radiating smile to appear on Blade's exquisite face.

This action was of course perceived by Dolion, who, with great effort, simply ignored it. In these three months, Dolion had already labeled Blade as a somewhat mad person.

The fact that Blade sometimes talks to the system out loud, doesn't help his image as a sane person since Dolion isn't able to see the light blue screen.

But, whatever the issues were with Blade, nothing changed when it came to the connection that the duo had mentally as allies that they could rely on.

This was what Dolion placed at utmost importance when it came to Blade, as even if the world was burning, he wouldn't let Blade escape from his grasp...

The two entered the cave, as they both had smiles on their faces, caused by, very different thoughts.

...

...

...

"Three months..."

While he sat there with utter boredom, not even willing to read his favorite books, Lucas couldn't help but be greatly annoyed at the thought of three months passing without any communication.

Yes.

Five months ago, he did a little 'editing' to the Teleportation Circles used by the Inner Sect disciples. It was because of this 'miner tweaking' did Blade, and the others fall into the trap that was planned by Adrian.

Over the following two months, the bandits, along with Alexandria would contact and notify him how the sessions of torture would go.

Just imagining the faces of Blade and Dolion, was enough for this sick old man, Warden of the Inner Sect, to shoot his load of aged white jizz.

After all, the duo was leagues above any other person he had met when it came to attractiveness.

But, three months ago, there hadn't been any contact from them. And when he tried relaying this news to his superior, Master Adrian, he would also lose contact with Adrian.

On this day, another normal and boring day as the Warden of the Inner Sect, something inside Warden Lucas churned, causing him to get a constant urge to rush toward the Teleportation Circle and personally go inspect the situation.

But, his duty as the Inner Sect's Warden prevented him from already doing this action.

Then, the thought of Adrian's anger spiraling out of control if ever anything was to happen to Alexandria, caused Lucas to shoot to his feet.

All previous rational thoughts immediately left his mind, and the only thought that was now present was...

...

...

...

WAA!

In a flash of light, Lucas's figure appeared on the Teleportation Circle located in front of the entrance to the dead city.

Rushing toward the location of the camp, which he had known for some time now, when appearing, a terrifying premonition descended into his body.

What his eyes soon laid sight on, was the gathering of many hundreds of beasts that were located either inside or surrounding a massive pit filled with burnt corpses.

"W-WHAT??!!"

A shout with a voice filled with utter confusion. Lucas, was able to discern who these people were since there weren't many who even knew of the location of the troop of bandits, and not enough to fill these massive pits with tens of corpses.

These corpses could only be one thing, and that was the whole brigade of bandits was somehow defeated by an unknown entity.

This...

It was something that left him greatly fearful.

He wasn't even scared of the individual who was able to do this feat since, with his full power, he could also find a way to kill all the bandits in this camp throughout the night.

What he was frightful of though, was the moment that Adrian found out about this... that moment when Adrian realizes his disciple had been killed, in a fit of rage, the person who would face the full unbridled rage of Adrian would of course be... Lucas Ajal.

...

...

...

In front of him was the reddish portal palpating with a mysterious energy. Dolion, who stood behind him was left in a stupor when his eyes laid upon the portal.

'I-Is this a Portal?! What is this doing in a place such as this...

And more importantly, how did he know of its location?' Dolion's mind tried to wrap around what was occurring but failed horribly.

Sensing the utterly stupefied Dolion, Blade felt a buddling pride growing in him.

Even if Dolion was filled with mystery, Blade was also rather special, and to others, was surrounded by an aura of mystery.

[DING]

The sound of the system notification resounded in Blade's mind, causing him to flinch in surprise.

[Mission Complete]

[Mission Difficulty-Easy]

[Mission Reward-5 System Points]

[Mission Failure-None]

As the system words appeared, 5 circular objects also appeared as they floated in front of his vision.

They had similarities to gold coins, on it was a design that was familiar to infinity symbols on both sides.

And, even though they looked rather intricate from the design, Blade still had his doubts about whether it was useful or not.

{Before you ask again, please, take life one upgrade at a time. You will know what this is used for after you upgrade the system...}

Seeing as his system keeps repeating these words to him, Blade simply placed the thought at the back of his mind as he then honed his attention toward the portal in front of him as finally...

'Am, what would happen if I enter it and I find myself in a shitty location where there are many people ready to slice me into minced meat?!'

If only the system had expressions to convey how it felt at this moment...

Blade could only calm his nerves and believe in his system. After all, the life of Blade and the existence of the system were intertwined.

If Blade was to die, the system would be erased, and if the system is to be erased, Blade would die.

Blade, who knew this, could only force a bitter smile at the thought of having his life tied to another...

Nodding his head, Blade's smile disappeared as a cold and serious expression surfaced on the faces of both Dolion and Blade.

Taking a step forward, the lower body of Blade began disappearing, and with another step, Blade fully disappeared from Dolion's vision.

But, Dolion didn't wait long, as he jumped into the portal and with the disappearance of the duo, suddenly, cracks began forming on the portal's surface!

BOOM!

The portal, as if glass, broke into hundreds of pieces that, after a few seconds, would slowly fade away from the surroundings.

...

...

...

Falling on his bum, was Dolion who could only blush in embarrassment when realizing Blade had seen such an event.

But, seriousness overwrote the duo's expressions once more, when perceiving their new surroundings as what they were able to sense, now had surely surpassed what their mind was able to comprehend...
