Thrum!

Sitting on top of a bolder, Blade assessed his status panel. His mysterious bloodline had reached 10% awakening, confusing him greatly. Seeing the notification, he agreed to open it. A light blue holographic screen that only he could see appeared before his eyes.

[The fact that you're reading this means that even though I exploded to awaken more of your bloodline means that I'm seriously injured but not dead otherwise, you wouldn't even have a system. For systems, leveling up is akin to cultivation. Once you reach a certain level I'll naturally heal from my injuries. What's now your system is something like a plan B, though it would function like a regular system, it isn't sentient at all. Anyway, good luck surviving without me]

Thrum!!

Reading this, Blade's face darkened. "Haha... does it think that I need it to survive?! What an arrogant fellow." The note, especially the ending, made it seem that Blade can only survive with the system.

"Well, since you almost erased yourself for me, then I'll level you up... Yeah, definitely due to my magnanimous self...!" Suddenly, Blade felt like he was becoming a tsundere. 'No, this is me just paying off the karma. It saved my life, so I'll save it.'

Blade thought with an expressionless face. "Plus, it's shit at writing. What's this bullshit notification, I don't even know half of what happened." He couldn't help but criticize.

Splash!

While in thought, a hand mysteriously appeared, pushing Blade into the water, causing the water the splash into the surroundings. But, at the same time, Blade was very quick to react as the one who had pushed him also followed due to Blade's grip.

"You!" He had a smirk on his face as he saw Andra's shocked expression. "How did you..?" Andra wasn't a weakling.

She had used her full speed to appear before Blade could sense her, and pushed him off the rock, expecting to remain outside the water and laugh at him when he re-emerged.

But, who would've expected that Blade would react soo quickly? Placing his hand around Andra's waist, he pulled her toward his chest.

"It seems that you've grown some guts. I guess, before I leave, another session is due, lest, by the time I come back, you think you can be as arrogant as you want..!"

Upon the words 'another session', Andra's face reddened. But, when she understood the fact that he'll soon be leaving, she couldn't help but be annoyed.

"Must you go? The Life energy here is enough for you, is it not?!" Astral's abode, this mountain... it was filled with Life energy that surpassed the energy inside the location the duo had first appeared when they were sent by the portal into Limitless Sky Sect, and it surpassed it by many times.

Andra knew this and she didn't want Blade to leave... "Andra, when you enter the Martial Lord realm, you'll understand that Life energy isn't the most important thing. And it isn't as if I can get a life-and-death battle in this place."

Tch!

Andra clicked her tongue, "Well, can't I also-!" But, before she could finish.

"Firstly, you aren't close to becoming a Martial Lord. Secondly, even if you were, unless you become a Martial Lord, you shouldn't entertain such an idea. Lastly, I won't be able to protect you... Here, with Astral, it's safe."

He didn't stutter and was incredibly quick to shut her down. His words also contained truth, so Andra couldn't refute them. Seeing this, Blade smiled as the duo exited the pond.

"If, by the time I come back, you can defeat me... Then I'll listen to any one request from you. I'll even become your slave for a day if you want." Hearing this, Andra beamed.

'In a normal situation, such a thing as catching up to Blade is unrealistic but, now that he's going on a mission, the time it takes to cultivate would be cut in half... I've got a chance.'

Motivation coursed through Andra's body. At the same time, Astral smiled.

'With this, my remaining disciple will also be motivated to cultivate. Good good, Blade, you've not disappointed me.'

As for the fact that Astral was stalking them with his senses, ever since the incident, it's become an unspoken fact that it would be better to have his senses out.

Of course, when Blade and Andra deal with 'other' matters, he'd quickly reel in his senses for the fright of seeing something that'll leave him 'scarred'.

...

...

Inside a mysterious space, three silhouettes could be seen. One sat on a mat with his legs crossed and eyes closed. Surrounding him was a mysterious aura that permeated the air, calming the mind of the other two figures. This was Astral.

As for the other two figures, Andra sat opposite her master with interest visible and Blade knelt toward Astral with an expressionless and unreadable persona. He wasn't angry that he needed to kneel toward Astral but, he wasn't exactly happy and accepting of this either.

Humph!

'I only kneel to those I accept. If I didn't like how his thinking has some similarities to mine, I'll never be kneeling in front of him like this...' Blade said in his mind.

"Disciple, this treasure is something that I came with from the 'Upper' Worlds. I hope you protect it well due to how precious it was." Astral said while smiling smugly upon seeing Andra's surprised expression.

Though the compass-looking object in his hand was actually from his system, the details of its origin didn't matter. Using a mysterious force, it appeared in Blade's hand as he remained calm and aloof as if it was merely one of his many treasures.

Right after Blade placed it in his space ring...

Fwoosh! Thrum! Rumble!

Swiping his hand, a dazzling light blinded all in the room. At that moment, Blade and Astral who were present in the cave shuddered.

"Huh?" Andra uttered confused. Between Blade's brows, a black sword symbol with red patterns appeared. It released a mysterious and demonic aura that made one uncomfortable.

"With this, you can say that in this world, you've got yourself an extra life. I highly doubt that there'll be someone who would be able to survive upon receiving this attack unless there is another True Holy Son or Daughter from another organization in this world. But, even if there is, what would they be doing trying to kill you?"

When seeing Andra's shock, Astral felt the haughtiness of the universe gathering in his mind once again as he worriedly thought.

'If this continues, I might become less cowardly. Sigh! This is beginning to become troublesome. It's such a pity when one has strength that could leave others in awe.'

But, right after thinking this, his face darkened. His expression froze when seeing Blade's unimpressed persona.

'Is something wrong with my disciple? Is he an idiot? Is he unable to understand my greatness?' Astral couldn't help but be displeased seeing this.

Sigh!

'No wonder those old monsters (cannon fodders) always spurt mouthfuls of blood when seeing the arrogance of some protagonists..!'

Cough!

"Take this too." Astral regained his composure and said. Waving his hand, a sword with black and red designs appeared. Though the colors were the same, the patterns were different than that of the sword symbol on Blade's forehead.

"This...?" Blade muttered shocked when seeing another sword treasure. His master surely treated him nicely, this was another reason why he accepted kneeling.

"As you know, treasures are divided into Mortal, Earth, Sky, Heaven, Profound, Half-Step Origin, and Origin... Well, in the mortal world at least." Astral paused slightly, creating tension.

"The sword you used previously, the one you named Icy Sword, it was a Profound Immortal sword that shockingly broke from the tribulation of a Martial Lord."

Even though he seemed calm, upon mentioning this, he was also surprised in his mind. He once more paused, of course, to create even more tension.

"Seeing as I care for my disciple, I'll give you this Half-Step Origin treasure. Though I think it's actually an Origin Grade Weapon that was split, and probably has another half, but this isn't important. Just remember, use it sparingly since even Martial Emperors would start wars for this."

He didn't show it, more like he couldn't show it due to how stiff his face had become but, he, Blade was shocked. Hearing his words, "Yes Master. All those who see it will die..!" Blade said with killing intent radiating from his eyes. He also forgot about the words of his master that went along the lines of 'other half', in Blade's eyes, only killing intent resided.

Ahh!

'My disciple..! No, you're becoming one of them. You're becoming an edge lord aren't you?!' For a moment, Astral felt he had failed. His teachings had been misunderstood.

Sigh!

'I'm sure of it now... Countless enemies will be coming my way. Even if I want to kill Blade, just like how he survived the tribulation, bullshit would happen, he'll survive my attacks. Then, he'll come to kill me... Ahh! Dammit. But, if I didn't take him...'
