"Is it worth spending soo much on Spirit Stones...?" Hearing the voice in the room next to him, Blade wondered if Athena had enough Spirit Stones to waste on a treasure that they merely needed to kill to get.
"No! We are spending this time peacefully. Anyway, my master has given me enough Spirit Stones that even after becoming a Martial Sovereign, I can still cultivate. 150,000 Spirit Stones... What's that besides pocket change?"
Saying this, Athena's voice resounded throughout the Auction House.
...
...
"Hehe, they should now understand that only I can act high and mighty. With this, many of those commoners understood how high my status is compared to these two families. After all, even a big family like the Gu and Luo are not able to cross that 100,000 Spirit Stone limit... Much less, 150,000 Spirit Stones."
In his room, sensing the silence on the lower floor, young master Peng smirked wickedly. "150,000 Spirit Stones going once..." The auctioneer's beautiful voice entered his ears, widening his grin more and more.
"150,000 Spirit Stones going twice..." But, just as the auctioneer had finished these words, the expression of the Peng Clan's young master's face froze as a sweet fairy-like voice resonated throughout.
"200,000 Spirit Stones."
Shhhhhhhhhh!
"W-What!"
The many below couldn't help but blink twice before darting their gaze toward whoever was next to them, almost not believing their ears, they needed to confirm what they heard from the one sitting next to them.
Shockingly, they realized that they heard correctly. But, at this time, the most shocked one wasn't them, nor was it the Gu or Luo families, but it was instead the young master of this city's strongest clan... Peng Clan's Young Master darted his gaze toward the room next to his as if trying to see through the walls and identify the ones in the next room.
"Who! Who dares..." Young master Peng was dazed for a moment. Even the two guards close by seemed shocked as their young master then proclaimed in a voice that penetrated through walls and entered the next room.
"I do not know which family you're from, but do you not place this Peng in your eyes?" Is what he asked yet, the reply he got was endless silence. His face turned ashen as the two guards also felt anger from the disrespect. Young Master Peng was about to reply to this silence.
But, before he could continue, "200,000 Going once..." As the young master of the Peng Clan, he couldn't bring the Auction to a halt, so he had no choice. "201,000 Spirit Stones!" He shouted while unable to hide his anger.
"250,000 Spirit Stones..." The voice filled with the seduction of a demoness entered his ears again. The people below, especially the men felt their blood boil with manly desire, but the young master of the Peng Clan felt his blood boil from the anger he felt running through his veins.
For a moment, he was silent. "Does this young master not warrant any face in your presence?" He asked. This time, he didn't bother hiding his voice as it entered the ears of everyone present. The calm anger from it could be felt by others, sending shivers down the spines of all present.
"Peng was it? Sorry for imposing but, some people want treasures while others need treasures. I need this so I hope you can be the one to save me face..." Athena's seductive voice seemed to resonate within the Auction House, like the voice of an ancient goddess exiled from the kingdom of gods.
Tch!
Her words made it seem like he, Young Master Peng, didn't need this treasure. 'If you think by putting it this way, you win, then you're in for a great defeat.'
He thought as he said right after to this daring woman. "I do need this treasure. Of course, as my father is a wielder of the flame attribute, I thought it would be a good gift... Or, are you saying that you are a Martial Lord with the flame attribute?!"
"251,000 Spirit Stones..." He said.
Chuckles escaped the audience when hearing his words. From what he said, this sounded much more reasonable. How many people were Martial Lords in this world? Only five resided in this place and of the five, only one was in this city. If there were other Martial Lords in this city, it meant that it was a Martial Lord of another city was covertly trying to sneak into this city.
If this was the case, this woman would become public enemy number one! Saying it like this, Peng instantly won the exchange of words.
"Of course, I'm not a Martial Lord but this doesn't stop me from bidding, right? Or is it that, due to your status, you wish to stop others from bidding...? Wouldn't this cancel out a reason for the existence of this Auction House, if you want something, you'll just take it?... 300,000 Spirit Stones!"
Thrum!
Her words rang in the minds of those preset. Their gaze turned toward the Young Master's window, and though they could see through it, Peng Clan's Young Master could still sense their doubt. The situation had taken a turn for the worse. With her words, he seemed tyrannical rather than overbearing, this would be bad if it was he who became the enemy of the public..!
"Hahahahaha! You can jest, I'll give you that. Anyone can bid in the Auction House, I was just surprised is all. Well, good luck." He said but, he was raging inside. Gritting his teeth, he then said with utmost confidence.
"310,000 Spirit Stones."
With no other choice, he'll rely on Spirit Stones. 'Once it doesn't go over 500,000 Spirit Stones, I'll be fine. Plus, this is for father anyway, so he won't be angered if I use this amount of Spirit Stones.'
"400,000 Spirit Stones!"
Ah!
Everyone gasped. It was already a statement to be able to dish out fifty thousand every time someone raised her bid, but now she dished out ninety thousand in an instant. Young Master Peng felt his rage boiling and his skin turning from red to blue to purple...!
"450,000 Spirit Stones!" At times like these, acting as if it isn't much of a trouble was the biggest and most important card he could play. He couldn't go higher than 500,000 Spirit Stones but, at the very least, he could act as if it wouldn't be a big deal, hopefully, it would dissuade the woman from bidding further.
"700,000 Spirit Stones!"
Thrum!!
Boom!
Inside the room, Young Master Peng's hand slammed into the arm of his chair. One gaze from him and his guards had already understood his orders. On the other hand, the people below, even the auctioneer, they were all shocked to the core.
Such a large number wasn't something they thought possible when starting at a measly sum of 10,000 Spirit Stones. Saying 10,000 was measly was already shocking enough, but it just went to show how many Spirit Stones had been spent.
"700,000 going once... going twice... Sold...!" On the stage, a woman appeared, lifting the box that contained the treasure as she exited the stage, walking up the stairs and to the second floor.
Click!
As the Auction officially came to end, and many people began leaving, Athena and Blade's room welcomed a beautiful black-haired woman who had a box in her hands.
She was greeted with the sight of two masked figures. One had a pair of crimson eyes while the other had heterochromia. One eye gleamed with purple light while the other showed an utterly depressing darkness.
That dark purple light seemed enticing, momentarily dazing the woman before she retained her elegance and approached the two. Athena already had a space ring prepared which contained all the Spirit Stones.
But, just as the two were about to greet, another figure followed behind. Seeing this, Blade's excitement rose to a great degree in an instant. It was the auctioneer! She had appeared, and the true reason why Blade's excitement had skyrocketed.
Well, it wasn't exactly due to her but to the people who followed her. Standing next to her was a young man and behind them were two guards.
"So you are the people who bided against this young master... I didn't expect it wasn't one but, it was two mongrels." The arrogance tinged in his words could be hidden.
Hearing his words, Blade blinked while Athena's eyes widened. What was this... This arrogance, this ignorance, they couldn't believe it. Even if there were one hundred City Lords, it wouldn't be enough to properly warm up for Athena, much less Blade, and even lesser when it was the two of them together.
Yet, this same weak city lord who had a son much weaker than him dared to speak to the two of them like this? No, surely they heard wrong.
"What did you say?" Blade's pleasing voice entered young master Peng's ear. Smiling, he replied, "One should always understand that saving face is important. How are you going to quench my anger now that you've damaged my face in front of all these people?!"
