Generational Type Of Talent

The sounds of cries and joys were all heard in the celebration of the newborn, as it pushed towards the light of this long-awaited journey.

Rushing towards the hallways, a tall, dark-haired man with blue eyes entered the room.

The woman who had recently given birth focused her attention on the man.

As she was exhausted, she inhaled as much air as possible.

"Xavier... It's a boy!"

"Really! I thought you told me it was a Girl?"

"Nonsense! It was only a guess!"

With nothing to worry about, the father and mother smiled in joy as they celebrated the birth of their son.

The mother clung to the nameless baby, lovingly caressing it as it took its first few clean breaths of air. He was sobbing softly, but not in a way that bothered anyone. He eventually calmed down.

"Kiana, our baby, what shall his name be?"

Her attention would be drawn to the calendar, where she'd see that January 5th is also the birthday of my father. As the last survivor of my family, will it be okay if his name is Jin?

"I don't dislike the name Jin; it's not a bad name." With that, it fits the household name."

Kiana, Jin's mother, embraced her baby son in her arms even more, nibbling on her thumb while feeling the softness of his cheeks.

"Aren't you so cute Jin!"

"Hey Kiana, can I hold our-"

"no! hmph!"

"But-"

"I said no."

Kiana wanted to keep Jin to herself a bit longer, so she refused to give him to anyone else. Xavier's delighted smile transformed into a lonely, melancholy pout.

She began to talk to her newborn child very nonsensically.

Your good looks were inherited from both your father and I, Jin! Your divinely beautiful silver hair is mine, yet you have your father's majestic, crystalline blue eyes. It's like the sky, and your face is so lovely and cuddly!

"It appears the birth of your newborn child was a success, Mr. and Mrs. Kamuy. I give you my best wishes for your healthy baby."

"Oh Mr. Sanders! What a pleasure seeing you here."

Greeted by the head doctor of operations Carl Sanders, both Xavier and Kiana gave their thanks to him.

"We just wanted to thank you again for giving us this room to give birth to our child Carl. It means a lot to us."

"Don't even worry about it, you saved my life 5 years ago during those harsh times in Creadwell. So the least I could do is offer you free help at Langdale Hospital."

*3 years later*

"sneak, sneak"

"Rustle, Rustle,"

"Oh! I found it! The book my parents forbid me from reading."

I wasn't sure why they hid this from me, but it looks like I found it again! HAHA!

Mother should be proud that I can read books at my age, because my smart father taught me!

Now let's see what this book has in store for me today.

"Thud, Thud, THUD,"

Those sounds are coming towards this room! I gotta get out of here before they catch me with this book!

Before Jin could go, he realized it was too late, as his mother had already opened the front door. Yet again, he has been caught.

"Jin! I can't believe you're back here again trying to read that book! I told you you can have it when you're 5 years old!"

"But Mum, I just wanted to uh, uh, um."

"Something the matter Kiana?"

My father then entered the room after hearing my mother yell at me. He was a tall man, but is super smart and caring.

"Oh it's that book I've been trying to show you Kiana."

Father approached me and removed the book from my hands.

"Hey! Give it back Dad!"

He bent his head to my height and spoke to me in a whisper.

"Sorry Jin, but you'll have to wait until I convince your mother, okay?"

His warm gentle smile really took all my whining away.

"Kiana, why don't you let him have the book? He's been trying to get it from us this entire month."

"He's only 3 years old Xavier, isn't it too early to let him find out about the workings of magic?"

"I know what you mean, but it's my fault since he saw me using a simple spell cast."

"You what?"

"I-"

"huhhhh?"

"But-"

"hmmm?"

"I'm sorry."

What just happened? My mother was controlling my father so easily, but he told me to never let anyone take control of me.

"Please, Kiana, he loves reading. Isn't it incredible that he could read so well for his age?"

"Xavier, I just want the best for him, and I just want to give him with the upbringing we never had."

"Don't worry, allowing him to read will not hinder his development or understanding of people."

"Okay fine, just make sure he doesn't do anything too dangerous with that book."

"See Jin, I told you it would be okay for you to have it. Go and enjoy it, and don't do anything to endanger yourself. It's a beginners mage instruction manual.

"Okay! Thank you mom for letting me read the book, and thank you dad for telling her!

The book taken from Jin was now returned to him. His parents were blinded by his innocence and sincerity, as they were dazzled by his sparkling smile.

He stood up from where he was sitting, gripped the book firmly, and hurried inside his room, where he crashed onto the floor and opened the book.

"Let's see what this book is about!"

"Page 3: In this world of magic, society is vastly changing because of new and upcoming technologies. So I created a book that will help all basic needs and essentials unlock certain routes, skills and techniques. This book should teach children how to attain their inner routes of their cores as mages, to figure out what affinity they have. It's recommended that a parent with a mage level of beginner advanced handle and help unlock the child's mana core. If you're aware of this, proceed to the next page for the steps of 'new core'.

Please ensure you are outside of a building before initiating this procedure, as explosions tend to occur.

Step 1: Sit down on a firm, quiet surface, so that you and your child can hear their minds and body's inner thoughts.

Step 2: Close your eyes whilst taking deep long breaths, whilst putting your hand on the child's back. If your child is reliable enough to do it themselves, they'd do this step vice versa without help.

Step 3: Call the name of the Gods and offer them a greeting of peace, meaning you bow your head and stay in that position until they call your name. If you cannot listen to the instructions and look at the face of God, your vision of him will disappear, and the surroundings will explode because you broke the ritual.

Step 4: If God answers your prayers, he will reveal your elemental affinity to you through a vision or dream. Please wait until he faces you, or the same result will happen. (refer to step 3), if all is well, there will be colors that match the elemental affinity you possess. If you notice various colors in this vision or dream, it indicates you also possess the affinity for another element.

Below this page are the elements achievable through the dreams/vision of gods

Elements: Water, Wind, Lightning, Ice, Fire, Earth, Gravity, Darkness, Light

I can't remember what my father said about doing bad stuff, but I don't think this is bad?

So I just uhhh gotta sit myself down like this, do this, and do this. Then it said something about breathing, so I just close my eyes and call God? I don't like the sound of that, but okay!

As Jin took deep shallow breaths, his focus remained unshakable. The surroundings in his room began to shake, rumbling.

"Focus!, focus!, I want to see what magic I have! God, please hear me. I want to thank you."

Through sheer force of will, his entire body rose off the ground, causing the entire house to shake.

"What's going on?"

"Could it be?"

Let's check on Jin, I'm sure it's just an earthquake.

As they walked in his whole room, gravity began to change.

They tried to contact him from the outside, but he was unable to hear them; it appears it was too late.

Unhindered by his focus, a brilliant light shone above his head, and immediately covered by darkness.

The portal of blackness opened, causing a weird phenomenon.

Wow, this is actually working! Perhaps I should pray more often... I believe I'm done now.

Slowly, I turned my head and faced the front of my dream or vision, but all I could see was darkness and a weird guy. Is this God?

They appear skeletal, and his body is made of constellations, stars and galaxies.

Then this pretty cool person stared at me, and I thought to myself, wow, those stars look amazing on him.

"Hmph, it seems you've arrived a little too soon... boy."

I didn't know what he meant, but all my surroundings were being destroyed.

"This is my last warning to you."

He snapped his fingers, and a tremendous gust of wind swept through me.

*A complete distortion between reality and worlds!*

[End of Story Alteration]

I couldn't comprehend what he did, because my ears were ringing so loudly, but he changed something.

"If you dare to enter this place again, I'll crush that arrogant smile of yours."

This unknown being wasn't the God people talked about, because I heard they were extra nice to them, but this one is different.

A magical circle that lit up was below my feet. I closed my eyes and hoped this whole dream would be over.

"begone."

He sent Jin back to his planet with a lift of his fingers overflowing with divine power. He was a God, but not the one he knew.

"Ouch, why does my body feel so weird and light?"

That dream sure was unusual and it looks like my room is normal, and nothing around me was destroyed, therefore that magical event was successful!

Since there were various colors, I wondered whether I could determine what sort of magic I possessed.

So I took my chair from my desk, placing it towards my bookshelf above it. There was a magical ball my grandfather gave my parents, so that when I found my elemental core, they'd use the ball to find my affinity.

My father explained to me that anything reflective may project the elements to a certain extent.

When I placed the ball on the ground, the only thing I could recall was that my father had placed some of his mana things within it, causing it to glow and project the specified element.

So I've done the exact same thing.

And to my surprise, the ball did as instructed by my father. I saw various colors, but it wasn't enough to project what my true affinity was. However, the ball ended up shattering for some reason, and the book next to me was consumed by flames.

"Oh well I guess I'll have to wait until next time."
