7: Interrogation

Marsha was still sitting behind her desk with a pile of work that she had neglected for a long time after her unfortunate tragedy. Marsha is still struggling to get through many things that feel heavy and difficult until her feelings and thoughts feel tight. Marsha felt that her sanity was starting to feel even thinner. Everything was still fresh in Marsha's memory. The tragedy that ended with the disappearance of Delia Ashton from her life added to the grief experienced by Marsha.

Delia disappeared like a ghost and Marsha had searched as best she could. Trying to search through Nolan Ross like Marsha did before when she searched for the truth about Sally. But in fact, it didn't work. Nolan had not or rather had not found out about Delia Ashton's whereabouts. It shouldn't be a difficult matter for Nolan to do Marsha's request. Because Marsha saw for herself how Nolan Ross and Kate Mary searched for all the facts about the life of a Delia Ashton and also all traces of Sally Pladys who had faked her death to arrive and settle in a house that was right in front of the building of the residence rented by Delia.

Marsha's days are not easy now. Especially with a series of other events that came almost at the same time as all of that. "I wish she were here," sighed Marsha alone followed by a heavy breath as she leaned her back against the back of the chair at the back. Tired of endless work.

Marsha felt less concerned about things related to work. All the deadlines in front of her eyes, Marsha lived by getting rid of all her tangled thoughts and feelings of depression that hit her hard.

Marsha forgot the last time she ate and slept properly. Marsha glanced at a long slender bottle with a prescription label from a pharmacy that Marsha subscribed to using Lucy's prescription.

"Lucy," Marsha hissed as a feeling of longing came over her. Her relationship with Lucy has been fine, although a big secret from Marsha's side is between them. The truth about the person behind the tragedy of the fall of Jorel Anderson, the mother.

Now, Lucy is in a rehabilitation center in the city of Boston. Lucy's condition was very sad for Marsha. She came rushing without thinking about anything else about Lucy who was found in a motel in Boston a few days after Sally's shooting of Delia.

Police found evidence that Igor Bulgakov's killer was Dr. Lucy Anderson who is none other than her sister. It felt like a lightning strike that scorched Marsha without a trace of dust. Igor's death may indeed be a big hope in Marsha's life, but not with the fact that it was Lucy who killed Igor Bulkacov.

The facts were discovered by the police, led by a detective named Zeke Hillman. They found various video footage as well as some notes hidden in Lucy Anderson's bedroom.

Marsha closed her eyes at the thought of how Lucy had killed Igor. Lucy has executed Igor Bulgakov who had put Marsha as a suspect because of Marsha's status as Igor's ex-wife.

"What happened? What's wrong with my sister?" The question came out of Marsha's mouth quickly one afternoon after she had spent a long night accompanying Delia who had to perform surgery. Several police cars stopped not far from Marsha's residence, who now lives alone without Lucy and Jorel, who until the day of the incident was still unconscious lying in the hospital.

Marsha pressed into the house which later became the scene of the crime. The rooms are marked with yellow police barriers, prohibiting anyone from entering or being in the room until a certain time limit is set by the police.

"We have to check everything related to Dr. Anderson," said the detective, who met Marsha for the second time.

"But why? What happened to her? What has Lucy been doing to---"

"We found your sister's DNA in the hotel room where the victim Igor Bulkacov was found dead tragically," said Zeke Hillman quickly and straightforwardly. Marsha was very surprised by the two palms that covered her mouth spontaneously.

The image of Lucy as a suspect is still unacceptable to Marsha in a healthy way. "We have to find your brother. When was the last time you saw her?" this time it was Zeke who asked Marsha.

The two of them stood in the middle of the living room inside the Anderson family residence while other police officers circulated around the house looking for evidence of Lucy's crime.

"I… I can't remember the last time I saw Lucy for sure. We just greeted each other after I got back from the hospital. I---"

"Has Lucy been showing a strange attitude all this time?' Zeke interrupted with a question at the end of his sentence. Marsha frowned suspiciously. She looked at Zeke who was standing in front of him carrying a small notebook and pen.

Marsha did not answer directly. She tried to remember about Lucy who looked normal without any abnormality other than herself suddenly shutting herself in for a long time. Marsha tries to find Lucy who has locked herself in her room on the night of the opening of the Felix family gallery.

"Lucy shut herself up that night," said Marsha as she and the detective both sat down on a sofa not far from the two of them. Sitting on the long sofa being in each corner. A doubtful look in Marsha's eyes.

"Why did Lucy do that?" Zeke asked again.

Marsha gulped while still trying to remember under Zeke's probing eyes. "I don't know for sure, but it's not the first thing I've gotten from Lucy," said Marsha as she remembered Lucy talking to someone on the phone in the late hours. "There's nothing strange about someone having a conversation late at night."

"Talk to the Evans family?" The question that left Marsha speechless afterward. A surprised look was followed by Zeke's lopsided grin. The apathetic gaze that Marsha could feel. "We have discovered some facts which we must ask you, Mrs. Anderson," Zeke spoke again before Marsha answered the question asked by Zeke Hillman earlier.

A handsome man with a well-built and muscular body wrapped in a leather jacket. Short haircut and a small earring attached to one ear. Zeke issued some findings from Lucy Anderson.

The police found traces of Lucy's conversation which brought answers to the questions swirling in Marsha's head and mind all this time. The fact that Lucy Anderson is in a relationship with Dalmiro Evans. The police hacked the cell phone and the entire conversation that took place between the two. The last conversation ended in a commotion and Lucy's demands for custody of a toddler who is now under the protection of the Evans family.

Another fact is the DNA finding belonging to Lucy from a lip balm that was found under the bed. CCTV camera from the building opposite the hotel where Igor was found dead. "Your brother has rented a room which is right next to the victim's room. The perpetrator entered from the balcony and seemed to have forgotten to conceal her true identity from the glare of the CCTV cameras in the other building."

"Impossible, it's an impossible thing"

"The perpetrator had planned everything so well she had learned some things about the criminal case that ended tragically. Not to mention that the suspect is a doctor who certainly understands very well about the human body. The dots of death and---"

"My sister is a psychologist, psychiatric consultant, and I---"

"Many things happen beyond our understanding, and not always impossible," said Zeke who sounded as firm as his eyes fixed on Marsha who was repeatedly surprised. "An expert if he can also be a dangerous assassin, Mrs. Anderson."

The brief pause Marsha used to catch her breath and regain control of her messy self. Marsha swallowed hard. Her throat ached as if many thorns were stuck in it.

There were three knocks on Marsha's study door, causing all the thoughts in Marsha's heat to evaporate. A pair of Marsha's eyes fell on the figure standing in the doorway of her room which was none other than Trevor Thomas Brown.

"Did I interrupt your daydream?" asked Trevor who then pulled the corners of his lips into a charming smile.

Marsha looks cold with a smile on her face. "Come in, Trev," Marsha said just before Trevor stepped inside to approach Marsha. The steps were getting closer and closer and erased the distance between the two of them.

Marsha was motionless in her oversized chair with her gaze returned to the laptop screen in front of her. "I came to pick you up," Trevor revealed the intention of his arrival. Marsha still didn't turn around while Trevor had plopped himself down on one of the wheelchairs that were directly across from Marsha's messy-looking desk. "Are you still busy?" Trevor asked which this time made Marsha glance briefly.

"I have to complete a lot of work that I haven't had time to touch while I've received their payment."

"If you really can't do it, why do you have to force it, Sha?" A question that made Marsha turn her head completely with a sharp gaze. "You can refuse by---"

"I'm a professional and I'm not going to let my hard-earned project go for granted, Mr. Brown," Marsha snapped in a voice that sounded firm and emphasized every word that came out of her vocal cords. Marsha's gaze was intensely fixed on Trevor who seemed surprised by Marsha Anderson's attitude this afternoon.
