CHAPTER 13
Startled by Izy's statement, Gaby didn't know what to say. "Excuse me! What have I done for you to accuse me like that?"
"Quit acting innocent Gaby, you clearly knew that I love Chris...I saw the two of you making out in the store room after the match, you come to me acting like you care for me while you stab me on the back!" She sniffed as tears threatened to fall from eyes.
"You followed us?" She asked out of curiosity.
"It doesn't matter whether I followed you or not, what matters is that you betrayed me!" She tried to hold her tears from falling.
Gaby didn't know how to comfort her twin sister at that moment coz the situation was awkward as it was, she wanted to keep everything between her and Chris a secret..also she had no idea that day they were making out someone was watching them and of all the people why did it have to be her own twin sister!?
"Izy I...I...I'm ummm..I'm sorry!" She stammered
"Sorry? Do you think it'll solve anything? You made me look pathetic before Chris, and I won't let you do that to me!" She said.
With her angry face, Izy walked away from her sister who was standing still having no energy to follow her. She stood there for minutes before she regained her strength and headed home slowly as if she was sick.
All her happiness disappeared after Izy confronted her, she loved her twin sister so much that she would never wish to be a reason for her sadness, unfortunately everything that Gaby did never seem to please Izy so it frustrated her so much.
Their mother noticed the awkward situation that existed between them in just two days, Emeralda knew that Izy was the problematic twin and suspected her to be the one who caused the situation. So she found the time that Gaby is alone to talk with her first before going to Izy. Gaby was sitting on the balcony of their house lost in deep thoughts as she reflected how miserable her life has been so far, Emeralda observed her daughter for a moment trying to read what's going on her mind...she crouched down and sat beside her, Gaby turned her head slightly to see who has joined her there and found her mother smiling to her.
"Mom!" She whispered.
Emeralda adjusted herself closer to Gaby whose eyes revealed the pain she felt.. "Darling, I've noticed how sad you are these days...would you mind telling me what's bothering you?"
"It's nothing..." Gaby lied and looked away from her mother.
Emeralda held her daughter's hands and caressed them, "You can't lie to me Gabrielle, you are my daughter and I know you pretty well to notice when you are okay or not...so spill it out I want to hear it to be able to help you huh!"
"Am I a bad person mom?" She asked as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
"Ofcourse not, you are the most loving person I know!"
"Then why God doesn't allow me to be happy?" She asked again.
Emeralda gulped trying to find the right words to comfort her daughter, "Can I tell you a secret about God's plans?"
Gaby nodded in agreement and her mother embraced her into a hug as she told her... "In the bible God says he'll never let his people suffer and he is keeping his words Gaby...when you reach a point in your life that feels like nothing is working that's when the best time is about to come, even after the darkness the sun will rise...have hope my girl, believe in God's words that it will be fulfilled!"
