One year special System POV
As a member of a race which exists outside of conventional laws, I have always been fascinated with beings who are bound by those laws.
To elaborate on being from a race which exists outdoors of conventional laws, we live outside of the idea frame.
I won't bore you explaining what idea frame is. But for everyone else, we don't exist. That's what it means. We are delusions of normal humans. Every so often someone gets the ability to sense us.
My interest in the beings bound by laws began when I saw them battle each other. The law is savage. The law is unforgiving and ruthless. Break the law and it will erase you.
I once wondered who placed such a law. I even asked my parents about it.
"We don't know. But one day, it was just there as if it had always been there."
That's what they said. So I didn't think much of it. My race is a pretty normal one. The only special thing is that we are not bound. That's all. I would say we have a humanlike society.
I always watch what they are doing. Human is a broad term used to describe those bound by the laws. But there exists a plethora of races. Human race is one of them.
They are called human because they can walk on two legs and have two arms. That's all. Some races don't have physical bodies and totally rely on their mental prowess.
After watching the humans for years, I grew tired. The same pattern. Humans will always destroy themselves. I am talking about the Human race specifically.
They always act on their instincts and invent stuff. They even come closer to decoding the law. But the law stands absolute and they destroy themselves.
This cycle has been going on eternally. Humans will always destroy themselves just before discovering the truth. Other races like elves, orcs, dwarves, demons, beasts etc don't bother with it.
Only humans are trying to defy the law. Like they are driven by something. A lot of time has passed since then.
I was watching a certain planet of the 3rd dimension. It's a blue planet named Earth. Humans have lived on that planet for a long time.
But they followed the law. They nearly destroyed themselves. Some of them survived and started anew. It was interesting to see how they are rehabilitating an almost destroyed planet.
Then I noticed a boy. He is ordinary. Nothing stands out about him. A normal family and normal life. I can read their minds as well but I don't. I don't like spoilers. I try to guess what they will become.
I thought he will be a normal law abiding human. However my expectations were defied. He defied the law. He was supposed to be assaulted by a pedophile who broke into his school. Everyone else followed suit but he didn't.
He retaliated against the pedophile. By doing so, he defied my expectations and the law. The law has special rules if such a thing happens.
The subject is to be isolated and killed off. The law does not budge. I thought, he actually defied my expectations but alas! He too will die like others who went against the law.
After a week or so, he was to be killed by his parents. They even prepared everything. However at the last moment, they became afraid and couldn't kill him.
He actually forced others to disobey the law as well. This has piqued my interest. He continues to defy the law. I am eager to see his growth.
The next few years, he lived a rough life. He didn't finish his formal school. Instead, he amassed knowledge from every possible source. He started working to support himself and got a good idea of how society works.
He became used to being treated as a pariah and even fended off the law. The law has never let him live in peace. But he got used to it. He never cursed his fate. He never regretted his actions. He lived a fulfilled life.
It was fun watching it. But the law will not stand it. He is starting to influence others into disobeying the law. He will be eliminated along with others.
I finally prepared to say goodbye to this human. His name is Clive Belmont.
That day too, was a day like any. Everyone went on with their normal routine until a spaceship entered Earth's atmosphere and started massacring everyone.
Only humans though. Animals were unscathed. I thought everyone is dead however someone survived.
My heart raced at the thought. Who could have survived? Who could defy the law to this extent?
I saw a silhouette standing on rubbles. It was Clive who was standing atop a pile of rubble and he was laughing.
He had denied the law for the last time. He made it look like he was never part of the law. He was just like us. Always going at his own pace. No law will ever hinder him.
I was at first only interested in him because he defied the law. However, now I am seriously interested in him. I will watch over him. I will help him. I will make sure that he reaches us.
The law which has bound them has finally met someone who can defy them like us. I will totally help him to see the law being defied and destroyed.
Then I began my silent interference. At first, I didn't interfere directly. I kept watching as an observer. The law was also trying to stop him. However, he kept progressing. He got a companion. It was a female dog.
Even animals are bound by the law. But encountering him, that dog was cut off from the law as well.
He is preparing. Of course those who attack must come back to check the loots. He waited for that.
Then it happened. He snuck into the spaceship to search for clues. I thought this is a good chance to help him. I searched for something to establish a link between us.
I found two weapons which could serve as a relay. They were spirit weapons. A kind of weapon which demands human life force to work.
With the help of his dog, Hazel, Clive found the gun and staff. He even got his hands on a history book and a translation amulet. His luck has always defied our expectations.
I established contact with him. But he was too weak so my voice sounded inorganic to him. My voice sounded artificial to him. I was a bit upset but that established contact between us.
From then on, he kept becoming stronger. Growing at an incredible rate. I gave him
It has the ability to interfere with the law and change things to your own liking. It is the closest to omnipotence you can get.
Clive is smart. He uses it to his own advantage by employing it in all sorts of unusual ways.
He is amusing indeed. And his party has grown. He has evolved Hazel into a beastkin. He made a bear cub his daughter and took her mother as his wife. In name only.
He has also sheltered a girl from another world. By meeting him, they were also cut off from the law and became independent. He has created so many uncertainties that the law will take actions sooner or later.
But he crushed all of those and headed to his next destination.
He always says things like peace and quiet. In reality, he likes conflict. He shines the brightest when there is a fight. He himself will find it out sooner or later.
I have told him that he won't be living a long life. But the truth is, he will live longer than any of his partners. In the end, I will be the only one he can turn to.
That's for the future though. First, I have to help him achieve his dream. Which he calls "Peace and Quiet". He will understand what he truly desires and if he acts on his impulses, he will destroy himself sooner or later.
But no matter what happens, I will always be by his side. He always wants to know my name. I told him that my name is System. But that isn't my name.
My parents have given me a good name. One of these days I will tell him that. He is currently on Jupiter. Trying to kill the God king who was foolish enough to attack Earth. After that, he will set for another planet and will conquer it. Soon, he will ascend the dimension and move to 4th dimension.
I live outside of dimensional boundaries. So he still has a long way before he meets me for real. But he has seen me twice in his dreams.
Enough of that now. I am only thinking about. It sounds like I am in love with him. I wouldn't deny it but I can't say it is romantic. Seems like we resemble each other in that sense.
