Chapter 2

-[Kaito]-

He didn't know how much time passed since he found himself in the shinobi world. He hadn't been brought out of the room and neither would he try to leave.

He may be confused but he wasn't stupid. Danzo was a paranoid man, a paranoid man that Kaito didn't want to test.

[Language Comprehension has leveled up]

[Language Comprehension][Lvl 41/50]

Determines the user's ability to understand the different elements of spoken or written language.

Another thing he found interesting was his lack of need for sleep. He didn't know how accurate it was, seeing as how his sense of time may be distorted due to how long he'd stayed in the room.

It was only the continuous leveling of [Language Comprehension] that spoke of how much time must have passed.

The books the man had brought were to ingrain the knowledge of how to read and write, amongst other basic things.

They believed he couldn't understand them and so taught him from scratch like he was a newborn. With his safety in mind, he saw no reason to correct them so early.

It was only until he was able to properly read and write in kanji that he saw the need to drop the act. After all, even he was getting tired of it. His stats weren't complaining about the learning experience.

With his two mental stats increasing as he read, he had determined that it was possible to manually raise them. He didn't start doing push-ups, it would only raise suspicion on his apparent knowledge and reasoning.

'Am I going to be stuck here forever?' He idly wondered as he picked up the next book from a stack in front of him.

Unsurprisingly, after he had the basics down, he was left on his own to learn the rest. He was more than grateful for that, not knowing how long he could deceive a fully fledged shinobi.

-[Danzo]-

Anyone who knew Danzo personally would notice the hidden look of satisfaction on his face as he made his way through his hidden base.

His weapon was alive. Right before Orochimaru fled the village, he and Danzo had cooperated more than a few times on human experimentation.

After the success of Kinoe, he had the idea to create the ultimate weapon. The nine tails had devastated the village and Hiruzen had been re-elected as Hokage.

To face that problem, he turned once again to experimentation. He would create the strongest shinobi who would be under his control.

Unfortunately, Orochimaru fled before they could make any real progress. While the other subjects were discovered by Hiruzen, he managed to salvage one.

He later regretted it seeing as how the child never woke up. The container was filled with nutrient fluids to allow growth to take place but there was nothing more he could do with Orochimaru gone.

He stashed the specimen in one of the empty storage rooms, on hiatus until he could infiltrate one of Orochimaru's bases to find notes to complete it. There had been no success on that front.

It was until he first sensed the spike of chakra coming from the room. It was supposed to be impossible but he had awakened.

He was surprised when he found the boy crawling to his feet in confusion. It was to be expected seeing as how despite him having an older body, it was still a baby mentally.

Imagine his surprise when not more than a week after he assigned an ANBU to the boy, he learnt how to speak, read and write.

'It seems this wasn't a complete waste.' From Mizunoe's reports, the boys soaked up everything he was taught at unprecedented speed.

'Tsunade, your days as Hokage will soon come to an end.' He thought as an idea made itself known to him.

-[Kaito]-

The ANBU entered the room once again, holding another scroll. He unrolled the scroll and unsealed another stack of books that was even larger than the previous one.

Kaito took the top book in his hand without need for instructions as the man left. As usual, the man stayed silent unless he had to speak.

'Chakra fundamentals.' He read before dropping it to look through the titles of the other books.

'It looks like they're taking it up a notch. All of these books are on chakra, hand seals and how to use them.' He thought as he looked through the covers.

"I see you're enjoying yourself." A familiar voice said, making him realize that the ANBU hadn't locked the door. "Do you know who I am?"

"Lord Danzo." Kaito greeted, carefully picking out his words. The man barely nodded in approval.

"Mizunoe has done well in your education. Do you know why you are here?" Danzo asked without a change of mind expression, eliciting a shake of head from the boy.

"You are here because you are my greatest creation. You are but a tool that will facilitate my unification and of the other nations."

It was only [Gamer Mind] that stopped the twitch that almost made its way to his face.

"As of today, your name is Kanoe. Your duty is to learn all that is given to you for the foreseeable future." Only then did Kaito notice the scroll in his hand as he tossed it to him.

"Failure will not be tolerated." With that, the man left the room, closing the door behind him.

'Bastard.' Kaito cursed internally as he picked up the scroll. 'How am I supposed to use this if I can't unseal it yet?'

He already knew what the man wanted. He had seen the ANBU from before unseal books from the scroll. Now, he was expected to do so with this scroll after he had learnt from the stack of books that was brought to him earlier.

With a sneer on his face, he picked up the first book on chakra.

-[Danzo]-

The boy's chakra had grown. It was higher than it was when he came out of the container.

'Could it be that his chakra is constantly growing?' He wondered as he made his way back to his quarters.

'If I'm right, he's going to be even more useful than I anticipated.' The boy, just like all the ANBU here, was his tool and he'd use him as much as he could.

He already showed promise, all that was left was to nurture it. If all went well, the nine tails brat would also be under his control.
