Chapter five: Jo

Stupid me!

How could I let a nice good looking fellow go like that… I began walking back to the car… all he did was be nice to me. Maybe I should have let my guard down and let him give me a ride. And then maybe he would have collected my contact and maybe I could have gotten a date. Oh! Just let me be selfish for once. Maybe that was why he got angry, because I refused his offer. Why did I again? And don't forget he's so dream and… Oh! No, I realized . `His jacket.' I whispered.

*

I sat on my bed, staring… opposite me, was Jake's Jacket.

What do I do now, how do I get it back to him? And then maybe see him again… I smiled dreamily… No! but mostly to give him back his jacket… I stared in silence again a little longer. Thank God! For the G.P.S tracker on my phone, that I was able to track my way back to the hostel, but Jo still wasn't here yet. Oh! What is taking her so long, is she alright? Maybe I should try on the Jacket one more time.

I hurriedly grabbed it, pulling it on, sniffing… oh, it smells so good I can't quite figure out the smell. But it was intoxicating, drowning. Now I've noticed something better than music.

I should perhaps sleep with it for the night. Then someone suddenly cracked open the door. I shrieked, looking instantly.

"Geez! Calm down, Nickie, your face is priceless." Jo sighed in irritation, I had no idea how serious I looked. I just snapped back at her.

"Where have you been all night? Now it's two in the morning."

"Looking for you silly." She took off her heels, but her feet were dirty.

"Yeah, and I'm sorry I left you behind."

"And I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you spilled drinks all over yourself." She slapped my arm and accompanied it with a mocking giggle, siting beside me. I just hissed, rolling my eyes. "And then you had to run off with my car.' We both laughed.

"And sorry about that also." I closed my eyes, shaking my head in embarrassment. "How did you even get back by the way?."

Her eyes narrowed with darkness and worry before she looked away.

"A guy I met, dropped me off." She then smiled innocently.

"I knew it." I yelled knowingly. "Wow! Tell me about it."

I slid into the bed, under the covers with so much interest, still gazing at her pretty face as she blushed while changing into her Nightie.

"Well." She began. "I'm not saying a word, not until you tell me who you are wearing." She gestured at the Jacket .

"Oh, this!." I straightened up when realizing how visible it was showing. "A guy I met also, gave it to me." I beamed.

"Hm, really! Tell me all about it." She imitated, getting into my bed with me. Facing me.

"I asked you first." I protested. And her sly smile went blank again.

"I just remembered I haven't finished preparing for bed yet, and I haven't brushed." She immediately got up, heading for the bathroom. I was dumbfounded. I knew I had a question for her, but couldn't form the right one in my head.

*

Stepping into the bathroom, Jo panicked for a moment.

Hope it wasn't obvious, Jo didn't want to get Nicole all worked up an worried.

She faced the mirror where toiletries and scattered medicine kits and brushes where laid around. Looking intensely at herself, she raised up her shirt and there an already fading large bite mark was on her stomach, it was healed but the sign was there and she remembered.

*

"Nickie-Nickie help." Jo yelled, but Nicole's attention was drawn to somewhere else, Jo pulled and shook people around her but all they did was kept dancing and before she knew it, it was too late…

A large, strong, muscular arm yanked her away from the crowd, through the back door. And she was thrown outside on a bare sandy floor.

Pushing herself up to a kneeling position, she realized she was very far from the club, she was on a lonely lane surrounded by thick forests and right in front of her stood a frightfully huge, tall, strong, perfectly formed creature, Human or beast… she didn't know.

He was shirtless with long nails and fangs, and a beautiful bright enchanting greyish-golden eyes. He walked forward majestically with grace and charm.

"Wait, please don't." she cried falling face down. And everywhere went silent, only the sound of her sobs was been heard.

She opened her eyes slowly, staring from beneath. Out in the clearing, she could see trees and edge of the forest.

Kicking off her shoes. She made a run for it, wandering into the thicket, barefooted. But she didn't take note of the thorns and brambles that prickled her feet.

Unable to catch her breath, with wild adrenalines rushing, she was aware of the wild urges to just disappear or get swallowed by the floor and then she kicked a stone, twisting her ankle and she came crashing down.

Crying out loudly, she must have startled a screaming chimpanzee that ran away. Afraid it would bring the beast closer, she began to crawl. But she couldn't go too far and became weak, falling flat to the floor.

It must have expected me to run, for it showed no surprise as it walked over to my front, shape shifting and changing form into a werewolf. She was so scared that she didn't know how she got back unto her feet, and it pounced on her.
