I slept overnight at Kathy’s home and awoke early to a phone call. I answered my phone with a groggy voice. I hoped eventually I would no longer be awakened at the crack of dawn to phone calls. 


“Hey, Serene,” I heard Ann’s voice over the phone and loud music blaring in the background. “So, I know I am calling you kinda early, so sorry for that. But, are you able to chat?” 


“Uhh, yeah of course,” I said, yawning and rubbing my eyes. “Are you still at the bar?”


“On my way out now! Hell of a night!,” she answered and started to explain, “So, I saw the pilot yesterday, and I gotta say you surprised me! I mean, your script was amazing, but seeing it materialize like it did, just wow!”


“Oh, thank you, Ann,” I said as the tips of my lips began to curve upwards. The flattery was worth the price of losing sleep.
