Selena awoke sweating profusely. She immediately rose up and unstrapped her armor, throwing it to the ground.

She rolled up her sleeves and pants legs as she looked around figuring out where she was at, she figured it out quickly, it was a familiar sight to her and it had a homey feel.

She was in a Forge. It had rudimentary supplies needed to actually Forge something though, the bare minimum required. An anvil, a furnace, and a hole in the middle of the room filled with a strange liquid, presumably for cooling.

It took her a second to remember why she was at a Forge, a side effect of summoning the Forge. All named Abilities had a drawback or cost to use them, none were free. Selenas cost would be a section of her memories.

If Selenas memories looked like a movie reel, it would look like someone tore out the middle of the movie and connected the end and beginning together.

She didn't lose a lot of memories at once, it took more memories the stronger the Forge itself needed to be to craft the blade and armor she came here to make. It also depended on how long she stayed here.

The flow of time in the Forge was different than outside on the bridge. For every 1 second that passed in the real world, 10 minutes will have passed in the Forge.

This flow of time also affected Selena, she would continue to age normally while everyone else slowed down, at least in her point of view everyone else slowed down. In reality, she was in a different place all together, her own dimension. The more powerful she grew the hotter the Forge would burn and the more things required for forging would appear.

Since this was her first named ability and first time using this one, it was relatively weak, especially compared to the ones from her hometown.

Selena immediately got to work removing the wood and bamboo panels from her armor, she threw her original sword 'Spectre' into the furnace to melt down every bit of metal on it.

The sword had come with her into the forge because they were linked by the soul, only because she traveled to a different dimension entirely was the sword able to follow her, once she was back in the real world, she would no longer have the blade and it would return to where it left.

Selena rushed and stoked the fire in the forge as much as she could, she didn't want to be in here to long and lose her memories and reasons for doing what she was doing.

An hour in she'd finished melting the sword and refurbishing the leather straps that would hold together her armor. In the real world only 6 seconds had passed.

Another hour passed and she'd finally designed a base design for her new sword and the dimensions it would need to have to fit in the sheathe. Selena also wanted this new sword to be different and more powerful than the last, the most powerful resource in her possession at that moment was her own scabbard.

She'd figured out that soul cutting worked on the sheathe, and that instead of using a normal blade to cut it, which wasn't possible, she'd have to use her own soul to cut the parts of the sheathe she needed to craft the blade.

She gently cut a little less than half of the scabbard off with her hands covered in her soul. She didn't know what the melting point for this scabbard would be, but everything had one after a while. She threw the part of the scabbard she cut off into the furnace and sanded and rounded off the end of the part she didn't throw in the furnace.

Another hour passed and Selena was beginning to see the Scabbard melting, just taking a long time to do so. She stoked the fire more.

2 hours passed again, she'd finally melted some of the scabbard into usable resources and had all the metal she needed to begin Forging her new sword, she began to hammer away at the metals, the Sword would be thin like a needle, she didn't have as much resources as she wished she had, so she had to make due this way.

In another hour she'd finished the sword after repetitively hammering, heating up, hammering again. She finally put the blade in the liquid in the middle of the room, right away she noticed the blade cooling off, and the blade seemed to sink into the liquid. Selena didn't stop it from sinking however, she watched it be fully submerged and then immediately started working on her armor.

First off she would need a glove that could hold her new sword, she didn't have what she needed to make a hilt, but she also couldn't replace a severed hand, at least not easily.

Then she would move on to her chest piece and legs. She didn't want to be to constricted in this new armor but she needed to cover spots that Chavez had repeatedly aimed for.

Selena had shaved off some of the scabbard specifically for all of her pieces of armor, and with the metals she had on her already she eventually had a half set of armor, immediately ready for battle.

She'd made arm pieces for both arms that went all the way to her shoulders, the only opening on the arm pieces were the joints at the fingers, wrist, and elbow.

She'd covered her entire back and chest with armor, it bent to allow her freedom of movement. She didn't have enough metal to cover her stomach really at all, but she needed to cover blindspots like behind her first, and that's what she did.

She had spots of armor covering her thighs front and back, her knees and where they bent, and then her ankles. She kept the leather boots she already had on, she just remade the souls in them and reinforced the front of them, she would be able to do more damage by kicking someone and the boots themselves could take more damage before being wore out.

She strapped the armor to her using the leather harness and straps she'd used for the wooden-bamboo armor and then took a second to breathe.

The metal shined so brilliantly against the stoked fire in front of her, it showed sparks of red and white. The armor she'd made was beautiful. It really was to bad she couldn't just hang it up and admire it for a while.

It was time. She walked over to the hole in the middle of the room and reached down into the liquid, the Sword she pulled put was thin like paper but the sharp edge was long, it was more like a needle than a sword for sure.

At the tip of the blade it glowed a deathly blue, it reminded Selena of ghosts or more like souls. The blade was ridged, it was never intended to be clean. When it cut someone it was meant to destroy their body beyond even the power of healing.

Selena touched it to feel the blades sharpness, and the very first thing she noticed was how cold at the tip of the blade it was, but how hot it was at the base of the blade, and of course there was no hint, so Selena held the blade directly. That was what she'd made her arm guards for, but even with them she could feel the hotness of the base of the blade touching her skin.

She put the blade in the now downsized scabbard and took a step forward taking a deep breath one more time.

Selena had spent approximately 6 hours in her Forge. The amount of time that passed outside of the forge? 36 seconds.

Selena finally released her hold on the forge and was again enveloped in the dark blue light.

She opened her eyes and was back on the bridge, she still had her armor, her sword, and her sheathe. She dreaded being back here again where she could possibly lose her life, but she wouldn't lose it easily, she would fight with everything she had. After all of that, if she still was on the verge of death, she would have to accept it after trying so hard.

She was tired, very tired. Selena turned around slowly, and of course waiting for her there, stood Chavez and Sharur.

"I like the new look, what can it do?" Sharur had a wicked smile. Chavez had sweat running down his forhead but a smile nonetheless.

Selena took a deep breath and swallowed.

"Come find out."
