THE BLACK SILHOUETTE

"Mr. Watson? What brings sir here?" inquired Lily as she kept her head low. She didn't dare raise her head feeling the aura emitting by the man.

"Keep inquiring me, and you'll let the blood flow more from her," He said as he glanced at Vilian.

The maid flinched as she heard him remark.

Though Astrel was not sparing a glance at Lily, she bowed her head and then left the water bowl on the floor, but the next second, Astrel took Vilian in his arms and started marching into the room.

Lily had no choice but to follow him with the water bowl and the medical kit.

'Good lord! How did he come in?' thought Lily.

Astrel laid Vilian on her bed and sat next to her as he took the injured leg and placed it on his lap, not a minute passed he took out the glass shred and felt Vilian move her feet away from his clutch, but he held it in place.

Lily was still in shock, not expecting the man to do it himself and get in touch with blood.

Little did she know, he was a beast when it came to blood.

Astrel raised his hand indicating to give him the surgical spirit and the bandage. Lily was still in her trance but the next second the deep voice awoke her, "What are you daydreaming? Get me the bandages and the surgical spirit," he ordered annoyingly.

Lily hurriedly turned to get it from the bedside table but did not witness him licking his bloodied finger clean and fastly, savoring the blood's taste.

"What a waste of blood?" He muttered.

"Here you go, sir," she squeaked as she gave the things Astrel asked for with her shaky hand and stood there while she observed him dressing her lady's wound securely like an expert, but her little head was eating her with so many thoughts not knowing how and what to explain about the situation.

Her clammy fingers were clutching the Apron tightly as she fidgeted her shoe on the floor. Thankfully it made no big sound due to the carpeted floor though it still made a little taping sound

The gesture she made resulted her on getting a straight pointed look from Astrel, causing a shiver to run down her spine.

'It was just a look but it felt more like a glare. I wonder how dangerous would it look if he glared,' thought Lily. The sooner the thoughts left her mind invisible sweat trickled down from her temple.

"Stop fidgeting," he said "Why haven't you informed anyone yet? Seems like an earthquake had rambled in here" A sarcastic remark was dropped by the man.

'I saw this coming... How am I supposed to explain the situation to him'

"N-no. She might have mistakenly dropped the... the-"

"The?"

"-the jug! The jug..." she blurted what came to her mouth but regretted the very minute. 'Silly me! How could I give such a lame excuse'

"Jug? Are you sure it was just a mere accident and not something intentional?"

"I guess so, for I was not here when the incident took place-" she said as she felt her hands wet the apron out of fear.

"So you were assuming?" He tackled her with the question. The poor maid felt like she was tangled under a fishnet, being tortured by the fishermen.

"T-that-" she was about to cover up with a lie but a knock interrupted her. She sighed feeling relieved, but it didn't last long for whoever was behind the made her panic.

"Not another person..." she mumbled under her breath which caught Astrel's hearing senses causing him to glance at her suspiciously.

"L-let me look at the door..." she said Lily giving an uneasy smile.

Astrel nevertheless nodded his head approving her to step ahead. Lily took hasty steps toward the door but didn't open the door entirely.

It was the servant boy, "What is it, Noah?"

"Do I have to stand over here the whole day?" He questioned kiddingly as he rubbed his nape. "The food might have turned cold by now, you know..." He said as he tried to take a peep into the room. "Do you want me to come into the room?"

"Uhh... That... Seems like Ms. Vilian doesn't want to have her food as usual. You know her skipping routine," she said with an uneasy smile, "How about I call you if she needs it and you come rather than standing here. You must be tired waiting for so long," soon after the words left her mouth the boy's cheeks turned crimson.

"Nuh..." he said sliding it away. "It's-"

"That's fine. You may leave, the food's turned cold and who knows the lady might not want to have her breakfast," she insisted to the boy.

"Well then, see yuh," said Noah as he smiled and gave a glance at Lily, and turned the trolley toward the opposite direction.

'Something's over, and there's another,' thought Lily as she entered the room and locked the door.

"So...?" Questioned Astrel.

'There's no choice but to explain to him. Well, he doesn't seem like a man who'd spread gossip.'

Mustering herself she started to explain it to him, and Astrel was all ears as he listened to the maid who seem to not lie. No change of expression could be seen by Lily as she expected it to be.

'What, is he a stone?'
