The curtains glowed orange to the morning light of the perfect sunrise. Vilian was completing her twentieth push-up by now but she felt tired. Only recently did she start doing push up. It made her feel easy to breathe with no blockage, which was the sole reason she had been continuing to do it every morning. Gazing over the bed she saw Mia squirming in her sleep as he mumbled in her sleep. There was no sign of her waking up. Just not anytime soon.
A smile tugged her lips as she walked toward her and covered her with the blanket which was tangled down her feet. She snuggled, feeling the warmth of the now-wrapped sheet. Vilian felt grateful to be blessed with a friend like her. Pretty understanding, loving, and overly caring. Lily, Mia, and daniel were the only reason and hope for her to live so far in this existence, and she didn't ever regret it. They were so precious, and it was more than enough, she thought.
Hanging the dresses she wore yesterday on the entice hanger, she took off the camisole as she entered the shower enclosure. The warm water pattered over her head, sliding down to the floor, soaking her nude body.
Suddenly a gasp left her lips as she remembered something. "How could I forget something like that? Eric, it's all because of you!" cursed Vilian as she rubbed her soft skin with the blue liquid. The liquid body wash smelled of fresh jasmine.
Turning the faucet off, she wrapped herself in a pink towel. The towel was hers which she used whenever she visited mia's home. It wasn't something to be surprised given the reason they'd sneak into each other's room, unknown to their family members every now and then. And the past few days, it had turned out to be frequent.
Dabbing her wet skin, she wore the same black turtle neck sweater and blue jeans, wrapping her hair with a small towel and making a small knot over her head. Stepping out of the entice, she glanced at Mia who was still sound asleep, and ran over toward the white vanity table where her phone was lying, switched off since last night.
Pressing the power button, she waited for the screen to turn on as she slid the transparent glass door of Mia's balcony open and closed it shut as she went to the balcony. The bright light of the sun flashed tight onto her face, greeting her morning wishes.
A smile tugged her lips but it had to die soon after the constant buzzing of her phone popping with loads of notifications from two unknown numbers, and pretty few missed calls from her little brother. He'd probably be fuming and pouting at the moment, just because she had not read him storybooks last night. Her mother had called her twice too.
A long sigh left her lips. Vilian placed the phone over the coffee table as she calmly waited for it to shush. It was quite annoying to her. Thankfully, she had left it in silent mode, so it vibrated the whole time.
After a whole three minutes, the phone turned dark. Finally! it was over. She picked up the phone and went through the message list. A frown etched her forehead as she clicked the message from the unknown number. There were two missed calls from it too. As she clicked it she gritted her teeth going through it.
[ Unknown Number: Hi and sorry!]
[ Unknown Number: This is me, Eric.]
[ Unknown Number: Vilian, I'm extremely sorry about yesterday. And for whatever I've done in the past and for digging back into the memories of us. I know it's hard for you... But please try to forgive me, for I'evbeen hating myself from that very day.]
[ Unknown Number: To be honest, when I came to Frost mansion, I didn't know it was where you lived though I was familiar with the road the first time I came in. Not to say, about the engagement thing which suddenly popped up.]
[ Unknown Number: Trust me, it wasn't my intention at all!]
[ Unknown Number: I'm sorry...]
"Uff!!! What is he up to now?" grunted Vilian as she glanced down at the audio message sent by him. That can wait... thought Vilian as she skipped the messages and glanced at the other new number.
"Who might this be? As long as I remember anyone whom I know doesn't possess this kinda number," mumbled Vilian as she tapped the message. Just a 'Hi' sent a few minutes ago. "Ehh... must be some random person who might have got the wrong number," she said as she slid it away. Her Instagram notifications were the one filled with lotta things. "Ugh... I missed the live concert... Never mind. How am I supposed to do the thing that I witnessed last night to Astrel? Do I call or text him?"
After thinking for so long, she sent a simple message that she typed, 'Can we meet up? It's something urgent!'
She waited for the next five minutes, biting her lips nervously as she glanced at her phone every now and then, expecting a message from the devil.
Nope. This won't do... I better call him. But what if he's asleep? she thought as she glanced at the time showing '7.33 A.M'
Surely he'd be up, right? What if he isn't? Whatever the lady spoke of seemed fishy and it might be something important... and if it was, me alerting him late would put me at fault.
Vilian face turned to horror as she imagined Astrel's cold look. "Now way I'm gonna fall into his wrath!" she said as she soon tapped the call sign out of fear.
Ringing...
Minutes later, the call connected.
"Hello?" It was a not-so-rough voice but still an intimidating one at that.
Vilian frowned as she glanced at the phone number. Is this the wrong number?
"Hello...?" she heard the voice again. This time it was a bit annoyingly.
"Ahem..." she cleared her throat, "Am I speaking to Mr. Astrel?" but screamed in her mind, 'Surely, not!'
"No..." He dragged thoughtfully.
"Oh, um sorry. I guess I've dialed the wrong number. Thank y-"
"Noo... noo," He interrupted her before she could end the call and heard another voice besides the man's voice.
