Just a ring

In a span of one whole week, nothing have given light where the Luna is. Diana is still missing without any trace. Many people never stopped searching for the Luna, who was last seen publicly in the DW Medical Hospital days ago. Even Kate, who have somewhat recuperated from her injuries, is all worried sick about the sudden disappearance of Diana.

"So there's a new girlfriend, huh?", Kate pouted as she glower at her visitors in the surgical ward. After seeing photos of Scott with another woman in the internet, she contacted Lucas to clear things out about Scott. "For sure, he stopped looking for her. All along, I thought that Scott is different. Ugh!", Kate furiously said as she rolled her eyes.

"It's not exactly a new girlfriend!", Cory defended Scott as he stood at the foot of the bed eating Kate's jello. "It's just.. it's just that they go out together.. eat together.. drive around together.. It's not like they kiss or hug, you know", he said with his face cringing.

"Just.. that? ", Kate scoffed in anger. "While Diana is out there missing, he's doing.. that?!", Kate crossed her arms in front of her as she glare at Cory. "My wounds still ache, and it's fucked up when all I can do is be all over my phone looking for her.. I couldn't even file a missing person report because Dr. Blackwell said it isn't safe for her. While your great Alpha Scott, who's all well, fucks a new girl? If only I had known, Diana and I didn't have to risk our lives in that stupid valley full of monsters and shit to find his cure!", Kate gasped at the sudden pricking pain on her abdomen. "I.. just.. can't imagine what could she be going through right now after what I saw in that place", Kate voice cracked as she breathe heavily. Cory and Lucas stared at each other hearing Kate's sentiments.

"Wait.. you went to the Valley of the Falls? That's the reason why Diana left?", Lucas asked as he stood upright from leaning against the white wooden pillars in the porch. "What did you do there? That place is dangerous. Is that why you have.. that?", he gave a nod to Kate as he pointed her wound on her abdomen.

"Yeaa, and why didn't she tell Scott?", Cory asked.

"Diana wanted to go alone.. She wants to show Scott that she can do something for him. And, she wants to find her Dad too. As we did. Dr. Daniel even told us about a cure, some kind of a plant.. He gave the instructions to Diana. She left immediately as soon as we arrived in the city", Kate said as she calmed down. "Look… Everyone's acting suspiscious. You guys are like the fifth who came to ask me about Diana", she added.

"Fifth? Who are the others?", Lucas asked as he gets puzzled with the situation Scott is in. Ever since the full moon, it was never clear what has been going on with the Alpha.

"First is Mrs. Woodsworth, of course.. Then, Dr. Blackwell. A guy named Roman came here too..", Kate said.

"One.. two..", Cory counted in his fingers the visitors who came to see Kaye. "We're the fifth. You said five. Who else visited you?", Cory asked as he earnestly listens to Kate.

"Some guys I've never seen before. They look casual, and friendly, though. But as you know, never trust strangers", Kate said as she leaned back. "They said, they're friends with D.. I know D, she doesn't have much friends. And with men? It's hard rock solid no", she added.

"What did you tell them?", Lucas asked.

"Nothing. There's nothing to say anyway. Besides, all I know is that, Diana's going to get the plant to make the cure", Kate replied as she clutch on the bed linen. "I know you guys were friends with Diana at some point. If only I'm not here on this damned bed, I would find her. But please..", with her nose starting to turn red, and her tears about to fall. "Find her. Please, help me find her", she pleaded.

Lucas walked towards Kate and held her hand to hoping he could at least ease the heaviness of her heart. "We'll do what we can", he softly said.

Lucas and Cory bid their goodbyes to Kate as they continued to stick their noses in making their own search for the Luna. Scott seeemed to have stopped looking for her, something they find bizarre. They directly headed onto Diana's residence and as soon as they arrived, they saw Sebastian on his way up.

"Hey Seb! Hold up", Lucas and Cory caught up to Sebastian by the reception.

"So uhh.. whaddup Seb?", Cory asked. "I heard you quit your job", he added. Lucas elbowed Cory thinking it might be an offensive question and a sensitive topic for Sebastian.

Sebastian tightened his jaw as he exhaled sharply. "We all know that position is truly for Scott. Being the CEO of the company is my forever dream. However, I may still be young for that huge responsibility. I can wait for my time to come.", he replied.

"You're so mature. How old are you again? 50?", Cory teased with a grinning smile.

"Shut up Cory", Sebastian said with a smile. "I just know when to quit a battle, especially when I have no chance of winning", he shrugged his shoulders as he humbly let go of the one thing he have always thought he deserves.

Lucas placed his arm over Sebastian's shoulder. "Proud of you, bud", he said as chuckled softly.

"Besides, I want to focus more on looking for Diana.. I'm heading the clan's search for her. Are you guys here to get leads?", he asked as he led the two in the elevator. "Wait a sec.. is it true that Scott has a chosen Luna? So why are you guys here? I thought the pack's not participating", Sebastian furrowed his brows to the two pack members of the Grayback Clan.

"Uhh.. let's just say..it's a surprise", Cory smiled ear to ear.

"He.. doesn't know?", Sebastian asked as he squinted his eyes. "He doesn't care for Diana anymore? That's absurd", he said as the elevator closed pressing 20th floor.

"I find it absurd too. I don't know what's in his head. Diana has been off the radar for two weeks now, and he never searched himself. No one just mysteriously disappear like a bubble.. especially for someone who has suppressed powers", Lucas said though he wonders if Sebastian is someone who can be trusted with the search for the Luna. The clan searches for the Luna as an anwer for Stanley's needs.

"My men have been looking for her. Her house have signs of forced entry but the place is clean from scents and marks. You can go up and see, it's open. No one have come yet to fix the door", he said as he pressed the 21st floor this time. "She was last seen in the lobby", he added.

In a few minutes, the elevators opened at the 21st floor. With much anticipation, the three entered Diana's flat voluntarily and visibly noticed the marks on the door showing that it was forcefully pushed open. Inside her home, everything seemed unmoved as the dust filled the entire interiors and furniture.

They scattered around as they look for clues. Lucas went upstairs, Sebastian went in the kitchen area and Cory stayed in the living room. With their senses up, they fervently sniffed around to make sure nothing have been missed.

While Cory looked around, he noticed something shiny on the corner. He picked it up and tried to sense something out of it.

"Found anything?", Lucas asked. "What's that?", he stared the the shiny thing on Cory's hand.

"Just a ring.", Cory said. "But Luna doesn't wear any jewelry.. so this might be a clue.", he added.

Lucas and Cory noticed Sebastian staring at the ring with his eyes open. "I know whom that ring is", he said.
