It had been just over a year since the battle in the woods beyond the meadow.


Arion was lying awake, the sun barely rising, and she couldn’t help but reflect on the last year.


The week after the battle was the most stressful.


The council was holding session the entire week to discuss the events and what the future would hold for all of them.


Arion had taken less than that time to recover, but Reni a little longer, because of her throat wounds by Isaac.


William had never left her side in all of the time. 


When brought to the council, Arion and Owen both vouched for what they saw that day. And though it had been stupid, William was still proven to be a brave human to stand up to a dangerous rogue in order to not only distract him from Owen, but to attempt to protect Reni from his attack.


William was granted permission to stay with the pack. And with that, he had a request of his own.
