Chapter 30: A Chaotic Day

“It’s worth looking, but do you really think the portal would still be in one of our houses?” Matt asked me.

“Well, we are different than other people so I don’t see why not.” I answered, still thinking about our parents. I wrapped my arms around myself.

“That’s true. Imagine if it was at the carnival. I guess we’d be going down with the whole ocean.” Grayson said, remembering the big waves and storm outside.

“Everything is so big now. It’s hard to comprehend so much after being isolated for so long. How long was I out there?” Matt asked us.

“I think, a week. Maybe. I have no idea how long we were stuck in that room so it could have been longer.” I answered.

“It felt like years. I’m scared, honestly.” Matt said quietly, the rain getting louder as it started to hit the front of the library.

“Of what? This storm?” Grayson asked.

“I guess. And of the future. I’m worried that we won’t be okay.” Matt confessed.
