Chapter 17: Pelleas

I stood on the battlements of the castle, looking over the new growth within Adhmad Dé. Overnight, an entire field of flowers had bloomed within the confines of the woods and everyone that laid eyes upon it was completely awestruck by its majesty.

I smiled to myself, knowing it was Helemoira's handy work. Whatever she was doing, it was working.

Valindra appeared at my side like a silent housecat. "I thought you said Adhmad Dé was dying?" Her eyes were trained on the woods before us.

"When did I say that," I asked smugly and cast a glance over to her.

She glared up at me, a wrathful expression on her face. "Don't play games, Pelleas."

"That's Commander Pelleas to you, you'll do well to remember that."

She blushed and nodded her head. "My apologies, Lord Commander."

I nodded but did not miss her side-eye as she turned to look over Adhmad Dé with a sour look on her face. "So what do you think of the new Adhmad Dé?"
