Chapter 39: Helemoira

Geien's room was lavish beyond measure. The walls seemed as if they were covered with a deep green velvet. But, when I approached them to run a hand over them, I noticed that it was indeed moss that covered every inch. The bed was too large to even be comprehensible, and it was covered in deep black fabric that seemed to almost absorb the light. It wasn't like anything I had ever seen.

One wall was made up entirely of clear, glass panes that overlooked a courtyard of dead trees and strange looking purple flowers. As I stood at the window, looking out, I noticed there was also a statue garden. Though, it was hard to makeout any of the statues at first, as they were covered with thorny vines and other flora.

"This looks..."

Geien said nothing as he came to stand beside me at the wall of windows.

"It's nothing like what I expected."

"Were you expecting Adhmad Dé?"

I nodded. I had expected an evergreen forest much like the forest I had tended for most of my life.
