Chapter 28: Silence

VIVIAN’S POV

Julian sat in the back of the SUV with me, heading to the airport to fly out to Italy. He had a wedding to attend out of respect, and I was stuck with him since he didn’t trust me to not swindle one of his other men.

“When we get to the hotel, I need you to choose between two dresses that I bought you for the wedding.” Julian stared at me, as I clenched a pen from my purse. I flicked the clip on it repetitively and focused on it. His gaze locked on it, appearing to be thrilled by me doing what he had asked.

However, I chose to not respond to him. I planned on not talking to him the whole flight over if I could help it. I crossed my arms and looked out the window, letting myself zone and forget where I was or what time it was.

“Vivian,” Julian called my name, and I didn’t hear him because I was spacing hard and getting lost. “Vivian,” he tried again.
