Chapter 44: Behind His Tough Facade

VIVIAN’s POV

Julian came home and didn’t say anything to me. I had tried to grab his attention, but Nate had pulled me away. The only thing I had seen was a hint of something that looked like blood on his forearms. He was already shrugging off his shirt and ripping it from his black slacks, as he made his way to his bedroom, effectively locking me out of his business life.

So, here I sat in my room, reading some novel that I really had no interest in. I couldn’t even tell you who the main characters were in it. I sighed and flipped through it, staring at Nate, who was still standing in front of my bedroom door.

“Are you going to watch me all night so that I don’t talk to him?” I flipped through my novel, pretending to be interested in it.

He sighed and walked over to sit on my bed beside me with his hands in his lap, “He doesn’t want you to see that side of him.”
