I said it stronger than I knew I had possessed. I was exhausted. My head was like a vice, and this conversation was draining me. Javier wasted little time between the Physician leaving my room to him coming back in discussing my future.


"My entire life a man has told me how to exist. Creating for me an entire world that was false. Let me have a chance to decide."


"You would still marry Geun?" He asked if he wasn't as guarded this time like he was before, he was different.


"I don't know but I know that my role in this game Javier is limited. It was never lost on me that at some point in time I would have to be in an arranged marriage of some sort. My mother and father were arranged. So even though the circumstances were shocking, and it happened a lot sooner than I thought it would happen, it was never outside of my imagination."


"But it doesn't have to be this way," Javier said quietly.
