A 'GOD' ore two

"Sorry guys but could you wait a little. I didn't clean the place in days." The white figure waved its hand and sad with a chuckle: "You never change but you always forget that we don't care about these little matters. we just enjoy seeing one of our few friends again."

The black figure beside it nodded. "But we'd still like to know who we are dealing with so why don't you tell us the pipsqueaks name". It pointed at Damian.

In the same moment he felt like a mountain head fallen on him. not that the person in front of him wanted to restrain him. the sheer amount of energy that was directed his way felt crushing.

but only for a second. as the white person also looked at him the pressure seemed to be gone. "First of all, I do change. not only that but I have no choice but to change. second, I never forget anything and 3rd even if you don't care I actually do. Not for your sake but for mine.

Last but not least the person behind me is technically my new employer but honestly I haven't even started showing him the ropes jet." the light creature turned around to Damien.

"You better introduce yourself. they don't like it if someone only relies on a middleman. they have enough of that already." Damian, although he was bewildered, again, straightened up and introduced himself properly.

Both of them looked him up and down and he felt like he was being analyzed. eventually the black person turned two the light creature: "I think we should talk about this inside don't you think".

As soon as it looked away from Damian. he felt the crushing weight again but this time from the white person. It hurriedly looked away. "My apologies. I'm used to people I meet actually withstanding my look".

Damian didn't know what that meant but was still thankful for the consideration.

While the light creature showed them inside, he had a little time to observe the two newcomers. they were in the shape of a humanoid, but they lacked hair.

The only thing that didn't follow their color scheme were their irises. the white ones where black and the black ones where white. they both wore the same thing. a sort of tunic that reached all the way to the ground and sleeves that were long enough to obscure their hands if they hung down.

They also featured a hood that Covered their heads. Damien followed them inside. In the middle of the formerly empty room now stood a round table and four seats. they all sat down.

A Short while no one said anything until the light creature gave Damian a slight nudge in the ribs. apparently, it's body, which seemed like it was made out of pure energy, actually had matter to it.

"I don't really know what to say. I've been here for less than half an hour and I was already incredibly confused when I got here. nothing that happened in the last hour actually made sense to me".

The two figures looked into the direction of the light creature. seemingly giving up on Damien giving them any kind of coherent information. The light creature side and started explaining: "first of all he is the grandson of old victor. It seems he didn't make it long enough to personally give the legacy to him".

Surprisingly the two figures looked a little sad when the creature gave them the news of Damians grandfathers death. "If not even the sage can escape time it would be idiotic to think a simple human like him could. but it Doesn't make it easier". They both said in unison.

"Well, it's not like the sage really tried to Escape his death. he probably would have managed to do so". The black figure chuckled. "Anyways", The light creature hurriedly changed the subject too not produce the next awkward silence of the day.

"Almost everything in here can't be explained with the laws of physics that rule your world". He told Damien. "I think you figured out yourself that the world you're in now is not one and the same with the one you came from. They are fundamentally different dimensions.

but that doesn't mean that it is not possible to build bridges to connect them. One person who actually managed to traverse the boundary between dimensions what's someone who was generally referred to as the sage.

He is a legendary figure that few people in this world have never heard of. He is the one who build this house and the one who gave life to me. to my knowledge he is also the only one who could have managed to stand on par with the ones who created this universe and defined its rules."

the light creature looked at the two figures and bowed. both of them side and turned to Damien. "I think you get it now but just to be sure. we are these aforementioned creators of this world.

At least that's what people think we are. Some people refer to us as gods but this statement it's entirely incorrect. at least their definition of what gods are doesn't fit to us.

But their definition of what a God is doesn't really fit anyone in this universe so It's oddly pointless to have it at all." The black creature mused about the naming sense of people while introducing both of them.

"We won't occupy your time for long. we just felt someone crossing over and wanted to see who it was. but now that we are here, we have something to talk about."

The white creature looked Damian in the eyes and said:" this is not an order, and neither is it a threat. think of it as a request. this world is no dream and no game. it is just as real as you are, and I hope that you can find it within your character to treat it as such."

"Even if we don't meddle in the affairs of the inhabitants of this world, we are still willing to defended it from outsiders. And even if we won't the Keepers will. we are more than happy to welcome you as long as you don't wield the power you will gain carelessly."

"You are the successor to a man who, despite his frankly ridiculous intellect and power never lost what made him a person. I can't possibly ask the same of you but at least give thoughts to your actions." the white creature looked seriously and despite its claim of its word not being intended to be threatening they send a cold shiver down Damian spine.

The black creature chuckled and addressed the white creature:" you're way too stiff. doesn't matter how you phrase it, with your attitude you still sound like a menace."

It spoke to Damian again:" don't worry as long as the order of the world is not completely fucked, you won't have any beef with us. we're also gonna tell you if you're going a little too far.

"We don't care if you want to hurl up here and keep your head down or if you suddenly decide to conquer the world. just keep in mind that the world is damn ungrateful and it's way too much of a pain to actually bother trying to make people obey you."

"Humans especially have their head so far up their own asses that they can't stand not being in control even if you try to line their roads with platinum. believe me, we tried."

"Most of them who know about our existence hate our guts just because we refuse to wipe their asses for them after they shit themselves. but if we do, they immediately turn on us if we don't powder their noses afterwards."

"And of course, after everything is resolved they act like the credit belongs to them and want to have unconditional independence. in the end, they just get themselves into deep shit again and come crawling to us for help."

"I'm saying this out of experience. a long ass time ago it was practically the norm until we pretended to just fuck off to another dimension and left them."

Damien wasn't exactly thrilled by the prospect of meeting these types of people the figure, which he named black in his mind, had just spoken of.

He was also concerned about the prospects of actually being able to interfere with what, they called, the order of the world.

He didn't know what it was but something that was called like that was definitely more important than the last thing he had broken, which was the mirror in his bathroom.

While Damian was pondering about the possible consequences of his future actions the person he had started calling 'white' in his head started talking again. "Since we accomplished what we came here for I think it is high time for us to be on our merry way.

It was as always a pleasure talking to you INT and I hope the next situation we meet won't have as sad news as this one." he bows towards the light creature, which was apparently called INT, and Damian before turning to leave.

"Now hold on wait a second. even though there was some bad stuff mixed in in our conversation I still think the appointment of the successor of our old friend needs some kind of celebration. why don't we stay over dinner?"

Black definitely didn't seemed like he wanted to leave but white grabbed the base of his hood and started to drag him towards the barrier.

"You know exactly why we can't do that. without the sage fueling the barrier it won't be able to hold us for much longer and it would take a substantial amount of time for INT to repair it if it broke. I dislike it as much as you, but we don't really have a choice in the matter. INT it's possible that some of the keepers are going to swing by. just so you know".

Both of them took another deep breath like it would be the last they would get for their entire lives and exited through the hole that opened once more in the barrier.

INT Exhaled like he had held his breath the whole time. he let himself plop on to the ground and Damian could have sworn he saw his figure flickering a little.

"I know that they can't help it, but I wish they would at least make a little effort to contain their energy". he was silent for a few seconds. when he tried and failed to stand up again, he just gave up and let his body sprawl on to the grass.

"Go on ask. I know there are a lot of questions you have and it's not like we have something urgent to do. there's enough time for everything so why not start with that.
